Blockbuster trade between the A's and Cubs.

I think the Cubs got the better end of this. Addison Russel gives them a pretty solid infield and could even pave the way for a trade of Castro for more pitching. Cubs are a good trade away from being 2-4 years away from being competitive.

They've been saying that about the Cubs for the past decade. I think the deal was better for the Cubs, but they already had a better SS prospect in Baez

Play him at second. Theo knows how to do this.

Serious question: Based soley on performance and not contracts, would you rather have Strasburg or Tehran?

Teheran, but I feel like on another team Strasburg would do better. He is coached terribly.

Explain. There is a pretty sizeable gap in WAR between the two.

The gap is very big between the two. 3ish? To me he just hasn't been that great since he got hurt. Has barely been over a 3 war once in his career. Teheran has been twice already. Teheran is 3 years younger and no injuries. Until Strasburg starts pitching like he did when he first came up then I have to go with Teheran

I think you're confused

Strasburg

Teheran

Teheran has never posted a WAR over 3, though I suspect he will this season. Strasburg has had a 4 WAR season and a 3 WAR season and is at 2.9 WAR this season.

Hmm. We get our stats from different sites, but I don't understand why the WAR would be different

Different ways of calculating it. I'm guessing you get yours from BR or ESPN? They rely on wins and ERA

In the next 5-7 years the cubs will win the world series. Maybe even twice.

Well this died.

Terrible managing last night. Fantastic game, but terrible managing.

Yost is an utter moron for going to Ventura instead of Duffy. The A's threw out four lefties in a row in their lineup. Use your lefty specialist. Then the bunting. Look, I admit, I don't like the bunt play. Generally speaking, you're giving up an out. When you have the speed of the Royals and the inability of Norris to throw anyone out, you gotta keep your outs. It nearly cost Yost dearly.

Melvin wasn't much better. I thought Lester should have been pulled after the 6th. Not that he was bad, but you had him at 85 pitches. Everyone in your pen is available and will be available for the next game. Pitching Lester on short rest should be considered, given his reputation. He was definitely done after the 7th. In extras Otero gets to pitch to Hosmer, then Abad comes in for one ****ing pitch? Terrible managing.

But the game was awesome

The game was great. The Royals gave the A's the game on the silver plater, but then the A's gave it back. Just shows how inexperienced both teams/managers are. Tonights game will be a lot tighter.

We'll see. Personally, I think Hurdle is overrated and the Pirates lineup is basically all on McCutchen.

As a Cardinals fan I think he is too. I think the Giants win, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the Pirates win. Either team will lose to the Nationals anyways. Unless they repeat 2012

Who knew that Detroits strongest trait (pitching) would also be their weakest
