I may have to trade both of my current shooters in so I can become an early adopter. Very interested in this new tech.

It still cracks me up seeing actual parts in your hands as you describe stuff. After 16 years of air drawings, it's nice to see real bits and pieces in person!

The only 2 stage Bushy ram I'm familiar with is the GBR. Were you involved with that one or was there one I'm not familiar with? Thanks.

We have a two stage spool in the Torque. We put this into the system to allow for a light bolt pressure and also be quick. The fun part is the parts are easy to change out to upgrade, a new back section on the Piston and a new Rear Pin and you can run a faster gun or so light it will stop on any paint. So, what are the dynamics?

The spool has continuous back pressure from the front end of the spool being in the Volume Chamber. This puts a rearward bias on the spool. When firing, the back section of the spool has air applied to it, this moves the bolt forward with 7-9lbs of pressure on the surface.

After the spool moves forward about 11mm (out of a 27mm stroke) the second section is uncovered, allowing for a faster action, totalling about 14lbs.

For contrast, the Shocker ran about 22lbs, the LUXE is suppose to be 17lbs, Bob Long had about 20 lbs in his inlines, and Planet was around 14lbs.

The dual stage setup allows the gun to cycle fast yet still be easy on paint. Also, like we said, since we can dial in the rear piston sizes, we can turn that down even more for tourney players shooting super brittle paint. So, if you are on our team roster, we will have some versions for you guys to test out.

Feel free to ask us more questions as we go through this! We have lots of new tech and we love explaining it.
Thanks for the info. Bit of a side note, but the 14lbs on the Planet--was that their Etha, Geo, Geo+, or Geo2/3 platform? Also, do you happen to know the lbs the Smart Parts Low Force Bolt or AGD Level 10 Bolt (stage 1 or 2) operated at? I realize that those platforms are not likely your area of study, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Thanks for all the updates you provide--they're greatly appreciated.

That aurora would add atleast 1K to the already low MSRP. On an off note will the raw bodies be available with the first guns aside from the 4 colors?

After seeing Bunnys experience on AO with aurora plating, I'm pretty turned off by it all.

That's a real bad example of it !! Gutted for Bunny !!
end of the day plating on aluminium sucks, it just doesn't last and the thickness of the plating is hard to control.

Look at the eclipse auora plating looked great new but how many have you seen that hasn't flaked??

Personally I'd stick with standard anno, you want it shiny go for a polished finish (gloss black looks the best)

If we were ever to do the Aurora finish, I think we would save time and worries and just make the gun out of Brass to begin with. Then the rest is relatively easy. Brass machines nice, and due to the cut down we already have on this gun we could do a whole body out of one and it would still be a light-ish gun. It is about 3 times as heavy though (well, dense.) A brass grip might need some extra shaving taken from it, but maybe an aluminum grip instead, for contrast and so we can keep the tolerance good.

A ways off those, when we has disposable cash.

We went over that design in the Tinker's guild years ago. It was really clever. I was not involved in the design of it, no. Just discussing the action.

I believe that was on the old Ego - it was a back and forth conversation with Jack before the LV1 came out on Simonized iirc.

We found that under 8lbs (just looking at surface times top pressure) the action was a bit too light (slow). We might run a few that are lower than that as we try out the new platform, and not the old one. We ran the prototypes kinda hard, with some raw parts lasting far longer than they should have.

We would be quite happy to sell as many of this gun that Bob Long did of the G5.

We don't expect too though. We are a small start-up that blew our timeline and budget for advertizing and it went into R&D. So being upfront and honest, showing you the entire build process is all we can do for now.

The rest will come in time, we are not expecting to sell a ton in the beginning, but for over the long run. We can have flashy advertising then. Not worried about it now. Start small and slow, grow at a decent pace so we don't get overwhelmed and can provide better service as we build up would be better anyways. We still have quite a bit to learn.

Do you though?

Because it wasn't just SSR (Speed Star Racing) who screwed this up; there are at least a half dozen companies who present themselves as "finishing shops" but in fact send their parts to the same company in the UK as SSR for this process. Those are the ones I know of, god knows how many more there are. None of them admit to it outside of court.

Even when done by the best, it's still risky for any marker with tight tolerances. The frame/body design of the Torque almost immediately rule out this type of coating as an option; that's what I was referring to.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
