For everyone else who may not know Scuba, his qualifications for the position are as follows:

Began playing competitive paintball with Chain Reaction in the CFOA Novice division in 2000.

Sneak Peek #2
Carolina Cup Inaugural Event #1 will be held at Glory Road Paintball, 4209 North Rocky River Road, Monroe, NC 28110 on April 6, 2014.
The series format will be a modified 5 man race to 2 format with NO COACHING! More info to follow!
Rosters will be capped @ 6 players.
Absolutely NO APPA ID card will be required (You will still need to provide the series with a print out of your APPA history) More info to come on this.
12.5 BPS PSP ramping mode will be utilized and enforced.
There will be ABSOLUTELY no banned colors for equipment/clothing. If you have a bright orange DM14 or a flourescent yellow set of cleats, bring them! No worries.
Rosters may be assembled based on a total team points value in lieu of divisional level exclusions therefore, ALL DIVISIONS can play in any combination as long as your team points value is below the set team threshold. This will provide a unique and level playing field where literally any team has a legitmate shot of placing well. More info to follow on this!
The field will be staffed by a minimum of (8) highly trained, experienced and certified judges. If you have been playing competition paintball locally for any length of time, you will see A LOT of familiar faces among this crew!
Carolina Cup Series will be awarding COLD HARD CASH prizes to 1st-3rd place positions at every event. These cash awards WILL NOT be determined by a minimum number of teams participating. They are GUARANTEED!!! Who doesn't like cash back in their pocket after playing hard all day? Along with the cash payouts, Carolina Cup will also be providing event specific awards to commemorate each event.

So, there you have it guys and girls. This is what you have all been asking for. Larry has heard the voices and he is catering a series to ALL comers. No player will EVER have to worry about being ranked out of the series, not having a place to play or if there will be enough teams to hold an event.
Let's do this!!!!!
More info to follow.
Sneak Peek #3
Field layouts will NOT be released!
Fields will be constructed on Saturday, the day before the tournament.
Old school Carolina paintball style right there!!!
This will allow for a truly even look at the field, for all players/teams. The "rich" fields will no longer have the luxury of constructing a similar layout a week or two before the tournament and allowing their field teams to practice beforehand.
Also, this series IS NOT
practice for any other series. None of the layouts will reflect any upcoming tournament for any other series. Carolina Cup is a stand alone entity with core principles of providing an uncomparable experience to the end user. Carolina Cup intends to be your first choice for competitive paintball!
The idea will be to show up Saturday after the fields are constructed to see the layout. Or, come early enough on Sunday morning to walk the fields.
Everyone will be in the same boat. Its time to learn the field on the fly, like it used to be! The strong teams will rise to the top.
