Tippmann Mag-Fed Rifle

Hey, guys. I've been playing with a TiPX for about six months now, and I'm loving every second of it, but I've been looking to take advantage of First Strike. I tried it with my pistol, but the platform's too unstable to really utilize the range and accuracy that I could accomplish with a rifle. I've obviously got the option to buy MilSig's FXR kit, but before I make that leap, I was wondering if there's any news on a designated Tippmann Mag-Fed rifle. I'm aware of the Tacamo conversion kits, but I was hoping to see something from Tippmann themselves.

Not as far as I know. More and more manufacturers seem to be getting into the Mag-Fed marker field, but Tippmann has a good thing going with their A5 and X7. If you don't want to do the conversion kit, the Milsig kit may be your best option if you want a rifle.

No need to spend the money on an fxR, when you can turn your tipx into a rifle for about $50 using me of two airsoft bodies. A dremel, and about an hours worth of work.

Also. My tipx has pretty big velocity swings. Does yours?

It did when I was on the 12 grams, but after switching to HPA it leveled out some. After switching to the TechT Bad Karma bolt I was able to run at a much lower pressure, which made it a lot more stable.

When I first tested it out, I had my velocity adjuster cranked from trying to get 285 fps with the stock bolt. My first shot was 380, so I turned it down. Second was 350, so I REALLY turned it down. Now I'm between 270 and 280, just to be safe.

You sir, have a practically one of kind tipx then. I can't get my tipx above 265 on HPA. Mine will shoot +/-5 fps, but I can't get it over that.

That's only with the Bad Karma bolt made by TechT. It's significantly lighter, so it's accelerated much quicker by the power source. The downside is that it can't fire first strike rounds for any length of time, because the fins shred the o-ring on the bolt.

Also, I BURN through air. I think the increased pressure is slowly destroying my TiPX, and I'm chasing down an elusive leak as we speak.

I have the BK bolt in my TiPX. The issue I had trying to fire first strike rounds was that the bolt would barely catch the next round in the mag and chop it.

What kind of mags are you using? I haven't had that problem with the Gen 1 zetamags. I never tried first strike with tru-feed or the Gen 2's yet.

I was using the gen 1 zeta mag. My brother has always had luck using modified tru-feeds though.

You may just be getting your wish. I saw this this morning and forgot where I had seen the thread (too many forums).

"It was not that long ago we were thanking you for the 200,000 milestone as we pass 275,000 fans. As always, tell us what you would like to see from Tippmann in the future so we can keep this page fun and interesting. ‪#‎getready‬ ‪#‎magfed"

The hash tags are interesting, it really is about time that Tippmann threw their hat into the ring in this aspect. Would be nice to see Tippmann perfect the conversion kit for their markers, as well as a stand alone platform.

There is currently a Tippmann Mag Fed prototype... (not the Tipx) News on it should start leaking out soon.

According to my sources it will be at the big industry trade show next month! Woot!

I can't wait to try it out!

I hope they do a better job than the phenom.
That thing was a disaster.
And the Tipx has ridiculous velocity swings.

That was the plan but we couldn't pull it together in time.
