Lightbulb MSC - Mandatory Shell Color(PROS) Only? Take the poll!

I was just thinking that there should be a official BRIGHT colored shell that should be used so that fans can actually see the lanes being shot. As a player myself I do find it to a players advantage to use a dark shell paintball against an opponent, but for viewing purposes I think a bright colored should be mandatory(PROS) and protected. Just wanted to see what the nation thought about this.

edit: being a commentator it also helps to describe what the an individual on the field trying to do, to shoot etc.

Ex: blind shots

Its not just the color shell, its the viewing of the naked eye. Dont get me wrong i think it is a good idea. However a Paintball at 300 FPS is about 200+ MPH the naked eye will still try to catch it as in image. I am no eye doctor BUT my girlfriend works for a eye surgeon so ya lol. Great Idea but I dont think it would actually work.

As a player in game you can see the balls shot and the ropes being laid down, countless paintball videos can catch a ball flying in the air. Just saying

Having had used both bright and dark colored shells of paint (And having had others use them when trying to shoot me), I'd be a liar if I said that the bright shell wasn't incredibly easier to see coming/going.

Agreed. Bright shelled paint is way easier to see flying in the air. I'd be curious to see the difference from the point of view of an HD camera (like the ones PBAccess uses).

If the camera can capture the streams of paint better just like the naked eye can then I'd say that is a rock solid idea to mandate that pros must use that paint. Or at least the paint GI, KEE, and Dye bring to the event must have a bright shell.

Granted some pros might cry and complain because it takes away whatever slight advantage they had shooting dark shelled paint, but if you are trying to make the game more spectator friendly.... They'll get over it.

Why not even the playing field and have everyone shoot the same shell? I've shot yellow shells before, and both from a player's and spectator's point of view, it's a lot more visible. Great idea.

Man, I remember before everyone switched to green/purple/black paint how awesome the streams of yellow and orange paint were.

Mike Paxson told me this idea earlier this year and I thought it was a great idea...I say use the brightest shell possible.

I take it you haven't played with the insanely bright neon yellow ball from Evil. You can see that coming from a mile a way and a camera most definitely can pick it up. I actually like this idea.

I dislike, the black shells were created to disappear with the netting.
I agree seeing the paint would be better for spectating but not for playing at a high level.

Great idea, yellow fill and yellow shell should be all that is allowed.

The dark shelled paints were made so that people can see it when shooting it, but can't see it so easily when it's incoming.

If we want to make it easier to watch where people are shooting and what is going on then this would be a great thing to do, both for the spectators and people watching on the webcast.

i watched a psp event on HD and couldn't see the paint shooting. It really looked just like 5 guys running to bunkers. Couldn't even see the lanes getting shot at them. Just maybe a splash of yellow when they got hit (if you're lucky).

There's no wow factor from a viewer's stand point. It is much more impressive to see all the ultra evil neon yellow paint flying OTB.

I still remember my first time playing with that neon yellow paint at the last NCPA event. Never seen the stuff before and to see all the paint flying... it was impressive.

good idea.

For some reason I'd thought this was already in the rules, surprised that it's not. Was wondering why it was so hard to see paint on the webcast!
