Dye NT11 breaking paint

I've tried just about everything i could find on pbnation and elsewhere on the internet but nothing works. Gun still breaks paint. Could use any help at all before i end up just sending it in to dye. It has all of the updated parts.

I'm right there with you. Bought one Friday new from ANS and had it overnighted to use Saturday. Broke paint brand new out of the box. Changed to green flow insert, still broke paint. Made sure I didn't have my barrel tightened to much, still broke paint. Tried the oring mod on the flow insert, still broke paint. Upped my dwell, shot great for about 2 hours, then started breaking paint again. Shooting 285 +\-5 all day. I did lower the tension on my rotor today but haven't had a chance to test that yet.

Not sure if it's worth mentioning but I can't get the plunger and spacer rod apart to save my life to look at the spool and spool spring. I've already broken a allen key trying and scared up the spacer rod from torquing down with a wrench. And I did mention this is a brand NEW gun so I think I'm just gonna send it to dye before I break something trying to get it apart.

What is the recommended way of getting it apart? I just don't wanna break anything because I've torqued down pretty hard already and it won't break free

I would suggest sending it to Billy Wing and have him mod it. After mine was done it was a lot smoother quieter and consistent. message him here and he can set you up.

Funny, in one of his videos Cnoddings says every NT he's come across that he couldn't get the spacer rod off and get to the spool was a 'poop can' (if I recall his term correctly).

This is the video:

I know exactly the video your talking about I've seen it. Unfortunately I'm sending my gun to billy this week and he said he'd get the 2 pieces separated and would cure my breaking paint problems

Poop canon is the correct term

I have also learned that you need to shoot at a slightly lower FPS than what the normal guns would shoot. I.e. 270 fps helps quite a bit.

So in your experience you've never been able to make one of these "poop canon" nt's shoot good without breaking paint?

I had 1.. In all my years that was able to shoot anything I put through it and that was an NT10. Everything after that turned into.. You guessed it. A poop canon.

Wished they would shoot as reliably as a DM but sadly they don't.

My NT10 was flawless. My NT11 had some hiccups but after I lowered my dwell it shot so well and got amazing efficiency.

Well I sent it off to Billy Wing today so hopefully he can work his magic. If not somebody can have this thing for dirt cheap if they feel like messing with it. Bought it brand new from ANS as of last Friday

Are you sure the eye rubbers are seated correctly? It may be the eyepipe that's misaligned and causing the breaks. Maybe a different set of detents may help as well.

I just got mine 3 days ago, it seems i am having the same paint breaking.
I was thinking of sending it to billy. I really love how the gun feels in my hands but i am just in shock! It is really eating paint. Should i try to do the 013 oring swap, maybe dwell to 11. And i heard if you screw you barrell in to tight it could break paint. I don't know i am so lost.

You could add the oring and up the dwell before or after you send it to him. It depends what you wanna do. I always recommend it as it made my gun a monster. those two adjustments might remedy the problem but Billy's adjustments include swapped out parts.

Cold weather might be the reason.

My Nt11 works fine when its warm, but as soon as it starts getting chilli, the gum starts vomiting all of the place.
Ill have about 10% of breaks than, so shooting straight is impossible.

Still trying to figure out what the reason might be.
I am not sure, but i have a feeling, that Dye slicklube does not like the cold.

So here my question, are all the guys that are having problems using the Dye slick lube?

Got mine back from billy last week and it broke paint worse than it did before I sent it. It was quit cold out so that might be a factor even though my geo3 didn't break a ball and yea I was using dye slick lube but I honestly don't think that's the problem.
