After getting mad sunday that my Dye Rotor v3 kept jamming this past sunday I got to wondering why all of a sudden it was seeming to jam every 5/6 balls but when i took it off the gun it ran fine. Well after 3 days of messing with the Rotor cleaning it and and really taking a deeper look into how it all worked, googling the problem, youtubing, I mean I spent a good deal of time seeing if I could find a fix and nothing. While on youtube I did notice that the good hoppers seemed to be a lot quitter then mine was. So I got to digging. What I noticed is that my Center Rotor Arm had a lot of up and down play in it. I say a lot but about 1/8 of an inch or so of play. With that much play it seemed to me that when the ball stack pressed up while the rotor was on the gun it could press the rotor arm up causing it to slip the gears giving it an instant jam. With this I came up with this solution Here that has seemed to fix my problem. I have now ran 4 pods through it with out a jam using the same paint and set up that i did sunday where i was only getting 5/6 shots before jamming. First things first let look at the Rotor
Looks harmless and much like a rotor but deep inside it is the
I took it apart took the top half of the rotor off then the battery tray, until I got to the rotor arm
Once I got to the rotor arm I saw a black center piece with a screw in it ( sorry don't know the technical lingo for this piece)
By removing the screw the black center piece can be pulled out. I went to my garage and got a few very small washers ( sorry i don't know the exact size)
I simply put 3 of them on the under side of the black plastic piece and screwed the screw back in. What this did was got rid of my wiggle room of the rotor arm, which in return from my experience kept the gears from missing causing the jam.
Like I said I have ran a few pods through the exact set up with the exact same paint i was using this pass sunday and not one jam. I am not saying you will never get a jam again with your hopper but if you like me and your rotor is jamming almost none stop this may be the solution you need for you problem. If I can get more people to test this out if you are having the same problem as I was that would be great its almost to easy of a solution and can easily be reversed. Thanks I Run the Tape
