Why should anybody ever switch hands anymore?

I always see people switching hands when sitting in a bunker, so they can shoot the other side without having them stick out awkwardly.

I've noticed it is much much faster to just switch the gun from right shoulder to left shoulder and still keep the hands on the same places they were before. (Right hand on trigger, left hand on foregrip). The same slim profile is kept when shooting on either shoulder, it doesn't feel weird to do, and it it MUCH MUCH quicker and easier.

Is there any reason why this is a bad method? If not, I'm going to keep doing this instead of the old way.

It seems like snap shooting would probably be harder like that. Maybe not, experiment with it and see what works for you but personally I think I will stick with switching hands.

Imagine snap shooting from both sides of the bunker lightning fast because you don't have to swap the gun around.

I do this sometimes. If i need to switch quickly from shooting right handed to shooting out the left side of the bunker I will just hold the gun with my back hand and hit the trigger with my front hand...if that makes sense.

It's actually a lot more practical and efficient to switch hands when you plan on sitting at a particular bunker for a while and the reason being this: A) snap shots are much more accurate because your shot will sway slightly outwards when switching shoulders with same grip, B) you can wrap the bunker and shoot inwards without forcing your body to protrude, C) you'll find it incredibly hard to shoot someone that's approaching on either your inside or outside when you're in the "switched shoulder" position.

You would still be moving the gun from shoulder to shoulder. Doesn't take much, if any, longer to go ahead and switch hands. Also what Basik said about wrapping and having a better snap shot.

Think it has something to do with how comfortable the person is with his playing ability and gun skills. Other than that I wouldn't think there is any other reason.

That is the only thing that actually makes sense.
