I am sure Empire will be dropping all sorts of info on this new marker so check back often and we'll keep updating the first post.
The Dfender is the new high-end Empire bullpup style marker with a built in hopper that sits right above the tank. The gun and hopper are made mostly out of magnesium. The gun and hopper electronics are synched. The gun comes with a lid and a speedfeed and two freak barrels.
Here's some sneak peek phone pictures we took behind the Empire compound to give you the first look at it. Sorry about the picture quality. The low light made these first photos pretty rough. We'll update with improved pics soon if you guys don't find some and add them to the thread!
Feel free to add more pics or details!
With a 68 tank on it:
The top easily slides off to get at the hopper and the feed tray.
I'd sketched out something very similar in about 2005, and knew the hopper tech wasn't ready for it at that time. Been plotting a buildup ever since, but it's awesome to see the idea (which I know has been around a few years more than my thoughts on it) come to market. Very cool gun, and a great meld of all the components that go into a paintball gun, especially a scenario gun.
"You gas up the marker, put on the gloves, strap on the mask, and walk onto the field.. it doesn't matter that you failed a test, that your girlfriend broke up with you last night, or that you got a ticket on the way there... your world is right for the next couple hours, this is your heaven on earth... live it... love it... "
It looks really cool and reminds me of a bull pup like a P90 or AUG. It's interesting to hear that the board and loader electronics are all synched too. It looks like this is based on the Mini/Axe bolt like the TM series no?
