Lots and lots of more fun stuff today.

First and best thing is my new, correct, VA arrived!! With new VA screw as well.

Looks good with the hyper 2 too!!

After looking at my parts I decided I needed to get back to the basics and really sit down and do them right. I kinda slacked the first time around so I got a bright work light and wet sanded all the parts down to 600 and 1200. Spent a little time working on this (read over 2hrs just wet sanding 2 grits)
Then spent some time on the polishing wheel.

Sorry for the finger prints, took pics after my roommate and a friend had looked them over.

Gave this another polishing

They came out good but not quite what I want and knew I would probably need to step up to 2000 grit like I normally do. Currently working on scratching up the shiny parts and then will repolish even better.

The frame is up to 400 grit for now, hopefully will be up to 2k tonight as well and ready for polishing.
Body still haven't been touched, kinda putting it off for a minute.

Bought a dremel polishing kit for doing small spots, the breech of the gun etc.
Finally got my valve out, made a valve tool for $2 so the body is fully stripped.

Once fully polished the upkeep is pretty easy with a micro fiber and mother's mag polish. If anything get scratched too bad I can always repolish them.

I do plan on getting the gun ano'd at some point. Not sure when that would be and depends on how much I like the fully polished look.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT, anno this marker. The polished combo you have going with the small black accents is going to look AMAZING. Don't mess it up lol.

I'll have to see, raw aluminum will always wear and scratch easy plus this is going to be an all around gun for speedball, rec and woodsball so fully polished might not always work out.

I would definitely have it anodized. Ano will preserve the time you put into the polishing. I think a real light champagne color would look awesome with the brass accents, but of course its your project!

I have no idea on color yet, or even if it'll be a color. I could always have it clear ano'd to keep the polished look but still be preserved.
But it all depends on how I like the finished look. Obviously the unpolished parts and accents like the ASA knob would have to be addressed before ano as well.

I did see a polished gun with a light splash over it that looked amazing

Been a bit since an update, haven't done a whole lot of work on this project. Been messing around with different polishes at home and really need to buy a few other polishes and wash all my micro fiber clothes to see the best results. I have my pump guide very very close to perfect but the other parts are not polishing out quite as well but I haven't done everything the same. I'm kinda experimenting for the best results. I need to spend some time at the polishing wheel too, been using a dremel polishing wheel for testing but it's just too small for what I need.

I have also put some time into the body which is where my focus is shifting now. I want to get that rolling since I have all the parts basically.

Here's a few progress pics:

Back view, you can see the left side is more round which is what both sides will be

The sides of the gun are getting some major work done, I've been working on one side more to get the shape I want then I'll bring the other side down to even.

Right

When you anno it. Why not just anno it polished silver? Still get to keep the look, less up keep.

I had a polished PGP and it would get roughed up so easy.

If I want to keep it polished forever then that's what I'd do. But if I'm paying for ano already I might as well have it done in something I want. Polished is nice but a custom ano really tops off a custom gun.

Thought I'd post up again, been working on the body for a while now.
A lot done, a lot more to go!

I have at least started the shape I'm going for and got a better idea of what I actually want. I knew what I wanted to do but wasn't exactly how it'd look or the best way to do it.
I'm going to dump a bunch of pictures of the body, I took pictures 2 different times I believe and they'll be in chronological order so hopefully that helps.

I've still been working on one side more than the other to get an idea of my final shape before doing both and trying to keep them equal as I think and see what I want it to look like.

The bottom tube is coming along, I still have a good bit of metal even on the smooth side and will continue to work on that. The rough side has a long way to go but using a dremel high speed cutter I don't want to cut too much or too unevenly and make more work to bring it back flat and smooth.

The top tube has been getting some work done and is turning out great I think. You can see the left side has majority of the work done. I'm thinking out the section behind the feedneck and tapering it down towards the bolt. This should match the skinny bottom tube better and give the gun a more sleek design.

This is pure beautiful. Planning on cutting up a few guns over the winter. Care to show which bits you are using in your dremel for shaping the body?

Edit: also at home I have about 100 trigger shoes, I'll dig through them tomorrow and see if I have a brass one.

I'm using a large high speed cutting bit for the rough cut and then large 60 grit sanding drums for the shaping. After that it's 220 grit sand paper by hand which is what the one side is in, in the last few pictures.

Sorry for the delay on response and no updates. I had quite the busy weekend with work and actually cleaned up and put away everything for this project so my dining room table wasn't overflowing. Hopefully this week I'll get everything back out and get some work done.

Also this guy ^^ above offered me 2 different brass trigger shoes for the cost of shipping so I should have those soon and one less part to track down.

Finally got time and motivation to work on the body some more
Progress is progress and actually got quite a bit done so far

Basically I've continued to flatten and remove the hump from both sides. Major work was done on the right side which was more untouched up to tonight.
Also continued working on the upper tube behind the feedneck, rounded out the right side to match the left and continued to slim the tube towards the back/bolt.
Hopefully you can see the progress in the pics

Pics of dremel tools as asked
High speed cutting bit
(yes the large pieces of metal in the background is what this bit throws everywhere and they hurt stuck in skin)

Sanding drums and quick change spindle
(very handy when using a lot of them, only have gone though 5 so far but have plenty as you can see)

After the sanding drum to smooth it out and continue to flatten/shape it

I know...I know...

I would update if I had an update to post, but unfortunately I don't have much to show. I've barely worked on the body since my last update and haven't touched anything else.
Life has been busy and this is exactly why I planned on a winter project. I know between now and spring I'll have plenty of time to slowly finish everything. The body is going to be the most work but the front half is basically finished and I actually sanded it all down to 220 grit and got rid of all the file and dremel marks. The back half has work to go but it's getting there.
Lots and lots of finishing work to be done along with finish up small bits I put off like shortening all the pump handle set screws, shortening frame screws etc.

I did receive the brass trigger shoes that were so graciously offered to me by a fellow member who posted earlier in this thread. I have to clean them up and give them a polish still but I have 2 options.
Last part I really want is a brass detent which shouldn't be a problem to find and hopefully I'll find a brass barrel suitable to make a freak tip.
