Using the right materials and changing the lens design can make it pass a safety test. Angel fail because the wrong lens plastics were used.
It obviously wanna just lens material, it was the design of the mask period. Because they said that they would have to do a redesign bc it failed astm, but it was too expensive. If all it was the material of the lens, the they wouldnt have said a redesign was too expensive, they would've just produced a different lens that was a different plastic or thicker plastic.
I believe it wasnt just the lense, but also how the lens was secured in the mask.
When they test them for paintball they use less brittle paint and shoot it at over 400 fps (someone once said they shoot it with a real gun, but then I went and read up on the standards amd thats only if you want the ansi z87 approved). A paintball traveling that fast cpuld easily knock a lens off, and on the Angel eyes there is nothing holding down the top of the lens to keep it from sliding outta place.
