To expand upon the argument:
If somebody says "droid phone" and not just "my droid", it seems like it would be easy to figure out since saying "my (motorolla) droid phone" is redundant. Just saying "my android" and not "my android phone" in reference to your phone makes no more sense than saying my "droid phone"; its the same thing as saying "my windows 8" talking about your PC. If you're not an idiot its pretty easy to know what people are talking about immediately. But if you're incapable of using context clues I guess I can see getting so butthurt about shortening "android" to "droid". Still makes you a baby back ***** though.
