My 1st NXT :)

I have always wanted to have a cool shocker

I got a russian legion a couple years ago, but it doesnt count, i never shot it.

I got a dm9 in a trade, and a buddy got a black/brown nxt, we swapped, he added some cash

sooooo what can i do to this thing?

i know nothing about shockers....
he said it had a virtue board, but i held the trigger down and powered it up, it didnt go into rainbow mode, so i gotta pull the grip off and see whats in it

internals are stock from what i can tell.

i did a bolt mod for a customer a year ago....
bored out the back of the bolt for a spring (why? whats it do?)

im goin to bed, gonna do more research tomorrow

pics!

BEFORE

AFTER

*yes the frame had to break through for the noid to fit*

http://youtu.be/OG23lAsEii4

i am a compitent machinist....
i understand most pb guns, but have never really owned a shocker

But yeah, I think the question is what can't you do to a shocker. Almost completely interchangeable parts between models, aftermarket parts, mods, etc etc.

Oooh man. You're gonna have fun with these once you get used to them.
Like cockers and mags, so many of the parts are interchangeble, so there's tons of unique Shockers out there.

First off, http://www.zdspb.com is your one stop Shocker bible.

The spring mod helps lower the dwell and reduces bolt stick to almost non-existant. It's a cheap, yet amazing mod.

Well since you're a machinist you can do every mod with out paying anyone. You could do:

Solinoid air vent mod
Low pressure bolt guide mod
Spring mod and quick exhausting holes on the bolt (or you could by an eigen and get 11 pods of a 68 and not have to machine )
lastly you could make your manifold a high flow manifold

After this all you need is a ndz lp can (nxt's are open guns so not the ulp) and your shocker should run at 140 - 150 psi.

Also check this out, it's not all of the mods you can do but it's most of them.

www.zdspb.com is the place to go. That link that stuff put up there is a good list of most of the things you can do with a shocker also. The main thing to remember is that as with any marker, there is a learning curve. For some reason the shocker's learning curve seems to be more drawn out to some people. Stay with it and you will be able to get your NXT tuned to where it will perform at or better than the new markers out there today.

It makes me super excited to see stanchy jump into the Shocker world.....only good can come of this.

Go ahead and grab an Eigen for it. Best bolt out there for it.

Inmylife is working on getting some ipr kits ready. Keeps consistency up at high rates of fire.

Other than that, just get your orings hand fit and go nuts with your new toy.

Edit: looks like you already have a vp trigger - check out the ndz Asa's - they flow really nice with NXT frames

I'm partial to critical triggers on nxts.

Never seen an empire relay on a shocker - could be fun!

Edit: last I checked, Eigens were still available at lurker pb

2 questions....

how is battery life.... like a 9v a day? or can i find/make/do a smaller battery? (i need a little bit of space)

anybody have an extra stock nxt frame? i'd rather do a test frame before i cut up my good frame

i think putting an Empire Relay on/off will work... really well actually, but i just need a place for the hose to go (so far, still havnt taken the frame off the body haha)

hmmmm thought process is goin

I have an extra stock sft frame, but not an NXT.

Battery life depends on the board. My dynasty board eats a battery a day. My 7e board lasted a month or so. My virtue lasted about the same.

Shocker is pretty damned tolerant.

Parker and Humphrey are pretty similar - one allows higher pressure, but I don't remember which is which. Jim could chime in and clarify. Humphrey has the detachable upper board, Parker is soldered together. Most people run ego noids on special builds because they are a bit more compact and fit the star frames without modification.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you make out of this

I believe the luxe manifold is not compatible unless you drill.

No idea on luxe manifolds. Sorry.

It's hard to find a luxe frame by itself, anyway..unless you pick one up from Mr. Trent direct.

You could always work on a mech shocker

I kind of want to see a shocker with an I-frame......

The I frame is wider than the body. You would need to machine off the old tray and make a new one. Pretty sure the luxe manifold will work w/o to much effort, just need different mounting holes.....I'd have to double check tho

It's possible, there would have to be a port that goes to the other insert versus a direct feed to the bolt sleeve.
