I gotta say I'm a little surprised they wouldn't let stock class pumps in the mix, I get milsim and why people do it but if it were my event I'd be trying to get as many players in as possible and focus on the limited ammo versus what a marker looks like. Theres lots of tactical markers that have stock class or spring feeds like the bt markers out there too, I play with a small mag fed group and while one guy saves up for a mag fed he puts a spring feed on his tm7 and wears a stock class rig.

So My team and I just showed up and walked onto the field with our pumps anyway! LOL

No one questioned us, no one argued, and once we took the front lines again and again...no one was going to tell us to leave!

At one point I was in a building, in a door way looking down a hall. Other players from my team were at the top of a T junction in that hall but were shot out by a large group of the opposing team.

I waited patiently for 10 -15 of the other team to enter the hallway before I opened up! In the confusion I was able to take out about 10 players before finally being taken out myself. LOL

Maybe there should be sub categories within milsim - ie

Hardcore: magfed only, no exceptions. Milsim attire also required.

Tactical: As above, but tac caps and hoppers allowed - so basically limited paint. Guns and players are encouraged to look the part but it's not really an issue so long as colors are muted.

The next level down would just be regular scenario ball.

Give it time guys, lets see what kind of traffic we generate first, there is no reason at this point to break us up by filtering out certain "Types"

Also Scenario doesn't belong in this section alone, because there are so many other aspects to scenario then MilSim, like the games based off famous movies, or role playing fantasy games, so Scenario is a "type" of paintball all on its own.

But if we build this forum up I can see in the future a separation being made to accommodate the traffic.

Take a look at "Pump Talk " and the Pump Tech forums they where years in the making, and finally got separated because there was a need to have them separated.

I don't think anyone was suggesting breaking up this forum into smaller sub-forums.

It's more about informal sub-classifications.

It's like with the pump forums, everyone knows the difference between open class and stock class (as well as modified stock, bolt action, lever action, spring feed, and on and on). They exist together just fine, but everyone acknowledges their differences.

Pretty much off the bat this particular forum started out this way. It's even in the title, Mag-Fed and Milsim. One is a technical classification of a feed system, the other a play style. Plenty of overlap in that venn diagram, but Non-Milsim Mag-Fed has already be discussed, as well as Non-Mag-Fed Milsim.

You could almost break it down to 4 overlapping informal categories. Mag-Fed, Military gun aesthetic, Military dress, Milsim style play. All appropriate for this particular forum. I've known enough players to say I've seen players who go for all at once, many who'll do 3 out of 4, and some who go for just one of the four. Heck, knew a guy who'd go all out on Military dress, but shoot a PMR on a speedball field.

Right now the entire aspect of milsim is too small to start making mag fed only games. Allow 50 round hoppers to expose more people to the mag fed experiance. After it gets bigger, magfed only games won't be a problem. Just right now, it's a bit too early.

Speaking of fifty round hoppers, tried out the gxg one the other day as for some reason we have an entire box of them at the field.

Boy is that the most useless hopper ever. Feeds worse than anything else, ever. I was averaging maybe 10 balls a *minute* with constant violent shaking which barely even helped.

It's just a flawed design. Might have to come up with a better alternative. I wouldn't even give it away for free. Does anyone know of any good low cap hoppers?

Sounds like a typical gravety hopper to me. LOL I don't think anyone makes...or will make...an aggitating 50 round hopper. Just no market for it especially with magazine fed markers being introduced left and right.

Agreed with Nahib. I have both an APP and a GXG, and the APP feeds as fast as I can shoot my pump. The GXG can't feed at all even with only ten balls in the hopper. Forget 10 bps. I averaged 5 bpm.

Good to know, cheers. Might hand that one out at tactical games instead

Wonder what the scope shaped one is like.
