I think the biggest reason fields don't allow them is they don't decompose. At all.

I'm not the least bit surprised with the results of
this test, but let's also keep in mind that for as
expensive as these are, the odds of finding even
a very few spent FS rounds on a field isn't nearly
as high as the chances of finding empty water
bottles players dropped out there. Weight wise
one water bottle probably equals at least two
FS rounds, if not more. When was the last time
you heard anyone complaining about seeing a
water bottle on a field?

Sincerely,

$999 MSRP. I was expecting a little less, but this looks like a really cool scenario marker.

While the chance is incredibly remote, yes. were talking a US invasion here...A HS friend of mine is a minute man in Minot, ND. even he had to go through basic, and is taught soldier first.

Unless the scope is raised up higher or the check rest on the stock is removed all together, it's going to be very difficult if not impossible to actually use that scope. Paintball masks mean you can't get your eye low enough to use them in my experience.

While logically I understand why an Air Force plastic surgeon exists, I still imagine them giving out boob jobs to the lady airmen. For 'Merica.

.this

I find the best way to use a scope is a bottomline asa with a tank. Not that I use a scope for regular .68 paintballs anyway lol. I know it kills the "milsim" look but its the most practical. The way it is set up right now is at most good for plinking targets in the backyard, and at that price I'll stick with a bb gun. Cheek rest + paintball mask = waste of money.

Way back I had an MR1 which came with a stock, you couldn't even look down the sights without modifying it by hacksawing off the top part of the stock.

It might not look as good, but a more practical stock would be more along these lines:

They're standing by the fact that a mask will work and "wrap" around the cheek rest, but I think they're not taking into account the fact that not all masks have flexible lowers.

Regardless, decent rail risers to bump the scope up another inch or two are easily available and not that expensive. So really, it's a non-issue. If it doesn't work for you, get a riser.

If this back up its looks with performance, this would be amazing for milsim.

Agreed, however, anyone shooting FS rounds out of this gun would probably be wise to put an adjustable picatinny riser under the scope, either from Killjoy or Tiberius, which would raise the scope up about 2-3 inches, allowing for mask clearance.

Even more important is sight clearance when you have a long barrel. When I use an aimpoint on my old Sniper II, anything longer than 18 inches obscures the sight picture. This gun will definitely need a riser, but it just straight up looks cooler when you show it off like this.

It's a non issue but you have to buy a riser? Sounds like an issue to me if the stock version of it doesn't offer you the comfort and ergonomics for $999.

Ergonomics is a tricky thing because everyone is different. They make it higher, and somebody will complain it's too high. Include a riser, and it raises the price point for everyone, instead of just the people who feel they need one. It's a case where you simply can't make everyone happy, so just give them what they need to allow them to make it right for themselves, and I think they've done that; it uses a standard picatinny rail and an M16 grip, so there's plenty of options if you don't like what's provided.

As for price, if you feel the gun needs to be absolutely perfect for you out of the box at $999, hey, that's your perogative. For me, I've never owned a gun, from a lowly Tippmann to $8-900 custom scratchbuilt guns to a $1500 NT that I didn't feel I needed to change SOMETHING on to make it right for ME. So if all this needs is a $50 grip or a $20 riser to accommodate me a little better, I don't have an issue with that. I don't see a whole lot of other companies looking to put bolt-action First Strike rifles out there for the (notably small) number of people who want them, so the price is what it is. You can't grow the sport and the industry by nickel-and-diming the hell out of every new company and product that tries to enter.
