Wow the warriors are setting themselves up to be legit contenders this year. Making moves like we actually think we can win

the only thing that would suck is they probably won't be able to sign Kirilenko who is much more of a sure thing for being a nice piece.
I have a feeling no one is dumb enough to offer Bynum anything more than Cleveland has. Then again, this off season has been pretty unpredictable.

I like Kirilenko because he can play the 3 and 4 pretty well. Gives them some more length on defense, which they could use. He and Brand would be solid for Cleveland for 10-15 minutes a night.

They were solid when healthy last year, remember, Wall was out for the majority of the season. Porter is a solid draft pick and Beal should be better this season if he gets healthy in time to work before the season starts. Nene is a solid piece up front who can put up 12/8 night in and night out. Not gonna blow anyone away, but they should be able to win more games than they lose. I like them to take over that spot in the East that the Bucks usually occupy, good enough to get blown out in the first round and not ****ty enough to keep improving. Good draft picks, but they need a big FA next summer.

Best off season in the NBA for sure. If Bogut stays healthy (or they make a move for a solid back up, Elton Brand would be a good fit), then they should be able to improve on last season. Looks like Denver is taking a step back and the Lakers are falling off of the grid.

smith can hit outside shots, his sht% is low because he chucks up so many. I'd hate to have him on a team I cheered for.

Yeah, his horrible inefficiency is sad. It'll be interesting to see how they all play together. I can see it working if he plays smart with his minutes at the 3 and then does what he does while playing the 4, but I can see him trying to takeover and throw up a lot of trash too. Sadly I see a lot more of the latter happening.

I can't see him playing smart. he's been a volume scoring blackhole virtually his entire career. At this point, he is what he is IMO and I wouldn't want to see him on the bulls ever.

Exactly. He's going to drift out to the wing 95% of the time, never even consider dropping it in to Monroe/Drummond in the post, and throw up an ugly 15-20' shot.

I would have signed Monta Ellis over Smith in a second if I were Detroit. If you're gonna bring in an inefficient volume shooter, at least bring one in at a position you need.

All of this Bynum hate. The guy had major back surgery.

Quote:
Andrew Bynum
2011-12 Season
PPG RPG BLKPG
18.7 11.8 1.9
Not too shabby.

Quote:
Dwight Howard
2012-13 Season
PPG RPG BLKPG
17.1 12.4 2.4
Bynum has more moves than Howard. Plus he is not soft and can hold his own. He'll come out hard for whichever team he plays for and declare his dominance as the best big man in the league.

Bynum is very talented, could easily be the best traditional style center in the NBA if he wanted to, but he doesn't want to. Howard is a far superior athlete but doesn't have as much size to bang around in the paint, but again, he doesn't care enough about basketball.

Anyone who gives a **** about basketball can shoot over 60% on FTs with a small amount of practice. Someone who has been playing ball for 20 ****ing years and is getting paid millions of ****ing dollars should be able to shoot 70%.

If he can stay healthy he'll change whatever team he's on though. If the cavs pick him up and he gets back into rhythm quickly they're going to be a playoff team no doubt.

He came back from surgery early. D. Rose has been out twice as long as him. Probably for good reason.

Agreed. As will Howard. But, IMO, Bynum is better than Howard.

Detroit is going to be the worst spaced team in the league with Smith, Monroe, and Drummond all on the floor at the same time. They were already a ****ty three point shooting team and they lost Calderon (their only 3 point threat) to free agency.

Offensively, he's a high usage player with negative offensive win shares; he's basically a net negative effect on your offense.

He is, however, a damn good passer.

ATL has Horford, Millsap, Korver, Lou Williams, John Jenkins, and whomever they end up at point guard (Teague or Jennings) plus potentially a free agent center. That's a playoff team, bro.

they both suffer from the same problem: absurd selfishness. Dwight is a giant child, Bynum is a giant dick.

the thing that drives me nuts about bynum is he is not working out at all for any of his perspective teams so we don't know where he is at. he is potentially screwing himself out of millions but he also could be super out of shape and missing his step.

edit: you are missing the key stat that bynum is really good from the line, where dwight is a sub 50% free throw shooter (the last 2 years).
