Dye DM8 - "scratch ticket" logo problem

Hi Dye-hards,

One thing that's bugged me about my DM8 is that the logo is slowly scratching off like a scratch ticket. I would like to just take the rest off, but I'm not sure what to expect underneath...so before I ruin my marker, I'd like to get some advice.

I've seen a couple variations on PBNation:

This example of a Blue/Black Fade seems to come off clean with blue underneath:

Where as this example of Red/Black Fade seems to have silver underneath:

I've also seen other Blue/Black Fade examples where it's silver underneath. Did the owner of the first picture do something special to get the underneath to match the gun color?

I'd appreciate any insight.

Thanks!
David

its just an insert jewel like on a rotor. eventually the color will rub off. just use a dental pick and pick it out carefully without damaging your anno. then clean up the gunk.

Oh. Does that mean the stock ones come out clean? or is there glue that I have to worry about scratching the underneath?

Do you know where I can order those jewels?

there is a light coat of glue. just pop them out. use some q-tips with hand sanitizer or something to clean that glue out.

TIL that the "jewel" was a separate, replaceable piece on the DM8 (as well as on the Rotor)
