I think that whole table is a poor representation of the variables found in the lv1. The way it's written makes it sound like each variable has a trade off, where on a poppit valve marker you are not setting it up to have any trade offs, but to find the sweet spot or perfect balance of pressures.

He's jealous. I get the point but the table is helpful

Well, the table does cut it down to bare bones trade off and gains style, but that is the point. To sweet spot, you have to know what each thing actually does. Not just the benefits, but the losses as well.
The table is a representation of things I found through weeks of searching on multiple forums. If you would like to add on to it please do! (Just don't actually explain what each does. It's in the manual for those who care.)

I had an etek3 that I wanted to finetune, but I really only got partial answers when I asked. To be honest, I STILL don't know how to set anything up 100%. (IE I think if you lower dwell, you can raise the lpr type stuff.)

Pretty much all stack tubed poppet can be tuned the same way - adjust the LPR until you see inconsistency, then up it a bit until it is back to fine.
Lower the dwell until it affects velocity, then up it 1-2ms.

This explains it better. Pretty much is the same for EGO's, Eteks, Impulse, etc

Great thread Nicky, I'll be sure to reference this next time I'm at the field. Quick concern regarding my LV1 however, I noticed some substantial wear on the bolt (looks like small lines running vertically up the bolt towards the plastic head) I'm guessing it's from a dirty/sandy paint from a dirty pod. It almost looks as though there has been damage on the surface of the bolt, but from what I can tell it is not hindering the performance so far; but I would just like to check with you to see if this is/could potentially damage my marker. Also do you know when the bolts will be available for purchase?

So Nicky, I'll soon be getting My LV1 and I live in SO CAL, its getting hot and summers almost here. When I get my gun, do i tweak the setting immediately? or is it best to break it in some before messing with it, thanks.

Break it in...I'm not Nicky but, he will agree with me.

DO NOT EVER ADJUST A GUN FROM STOCK PRESSURES (uness absurd velocity) UNTIL BROKEN IN.

Actually, he states in the first post that dwell and lpr settings can be dropped right out of the box in warmer climates

What's the recommended tank pressure to run? LP? SLP? SMP? Will a ninja pro with no shims (lp?) work?

Yes, since the SL3 regulator the EGO11/GEO2.1/Etek4/LV1 all can handle any pressure out there, even SLP.

Actually in this instance i wouldn't as the LV1 factory settings are designed to accomodate colder climates.

Hey Nicky,

I live in Texas where it is usually 90-110F during the season with winters still in the 60s.. So cold weather isn't really an issue for me.

I want to tune for "smoothness" so could I lower my solenoid flow restrictors (still not sure what they do exactly) and then adjust the dwell and LPR according to previous ego tuning guides (for smoothness)?

I got my LV1 "used" with only 800 shots on the counter so I'm calling it new. It didn't shoot nearly as well/smooth as two other LV1s that I have shot and was hoping to improve this.

Thanks

Hi,

You can of course tune your LV1 for "smoothness" by tuning the LPR, setting the dwell up so that it has slightly longer to do the same job etc, but be aware that there are potential repurcussions of doing this in that your cyclic rate may suffer and this could lead to ROF issues.

So long as you are aware of the repurcussions you can set your LV1 up to suit you and your requirements.

Nicky, Lowering the Dwell ups the effiecny? and Lpr turning clock wise is a smoother shot?

What about the solenoid flow? Should we still up that to 7 for a quieter, smoother shot, or should it stay at stock? I get 8 pods on stock settings now and only ever need 5-6, so I could lose some efficiency if needed.
