Just no metal spikes. Everyone wears cleats.

Actually, its turf shoes or tennis shoes only. Non metal golf cleats work as well. Cleats should should have no metal, also no spikes or ridges past 1/2 inch. You can pick up turf shoes at Sports Authority/ Dicks Sports. Also HK shredders are a classic example of turf shoes.

Softball cleats or cleats designed for grass are not allowed.

Thanks

Hey thanks COBLITZ, coming from the source I like that

Damn, i guess my "turf" cleats (cleats i used for lacrosse) are no good then...

Gotta go shopping i guess... isn't it a slip adn slide using turf shoes on turf that has thousands of paintballs on it?

Meh not really. I wear indoor soccer shoes myself (flat bottoms, no cleat action) and so far there has been one day where is was pretty slick but it's been pretty nice to me so far. We'll see how it gets this season though..

I wear synthetic turf soccer cleats (very small cleat) and they work really, really well. Never had slipping issues. Plus they are really light weight and breathable.

Adidas, Nike, HK: they all make great turf shoes for reasonable prices.

The turf has a 2" + rubber infill so the nap doesn't lay over and it never gets very slick. Very small rubber bumps on a turf shoe dig into the nap and rubber at the right depth. The fields are over sized so the running lanes don't fill up with paint. The problem isn't it being slick, its stopping abruptly if your cleats dig to deep in the rubber and nap. The NFL learned the same thing and had to adjust footwear to reduce turf toe and knee injuries.

Normal Softball , Football and grass cleats are completely unnecessary on this surface.

Thanks

Any of these would work, or similar from any other maker: http://www.adidas.com/us/shoes/_/N-svZ1z139iy

Mine work find on scenario. Cleats aren't really needed out there.

I bought a pair at Dicks that have a bunch of triangular 1/4 inch hard rubber spikes and they grip incredibly well.

I don't have them in front of me but I believe they are Addidas.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a ton guys!

I may not have the funds to pick up a pair this month, which is good cuz I can look around and try to find something that fits really nice. I'll play in my hiking shoes in a couple weeks, hopefully have some decent traction. I mean it's just rec for me at this point. I'd love to join a rookie team sooner than later though

Looking forward to meeting everyone out there next Saturday. Haven't balled in 2 years and I got the itch bad!

Jer, sweet thats a great price. Problem with me is most stores don't carry my size. In Adidas I'm usually a 14. I might have to go up there and check tomorrow though!
