Just picked up a 260 shell at at millennium London and and found it only holds 230 full to the brim. The paint is dxs helfire and is 685 in size. I thought I might of counted it wrong but after the 3rd time counting the amount was the same.
anyone else had this?

Mine holds 255 GI 3 star rounds with the SF speedfeed.

The normal Spire holds 215 GI 3 star rounds with SF. So it's only 40 balls extra.

Is the drive tray inserted correctly? I know sometimes it sits on the lip above where it's actually supposed to be notched into.

Here's a count we did at Dday. (this actually didn't have a spring ramp now that I think about it because I wasn't using one)

Make sure the raceway and feedneck is loaded up.

ps - I remember first when testing the capacity counts I did a capacity count, packed it as full as I could, emptied it out, added the spring ramp, and did another count (to see the difference) and I fit 4 more balls! I don't think the spring ramp increases capacity but sometimes the way balls sit in the loader you get a few more balls.

Wish the ramp spring was a little bit better. Other then that I love mine.

The spring ramp needs a stronger spring imo. I have yet to find anything I dont like about the spire or 260. Been using one since the day I could get my hands on one.

The spring only needs to keep a few balls out of the nose. It doesn't need to be overly strong. Also consider that the harder the spring the more it could Potentially keep balls from filling up the nose area.

The spring is as good as it can be the way I see it, since the nose area is short to keep the loader low-profile. The Rotor's ramp only works better because it's at the back of the loader where it's taller.

Awesome. I didn't turn the spire on to feed. Just filled it to where I was comfortable to get lid closed and a little rattle. Son has dumped his rotor and went to a spire exclusively. The rotor Jambed during a tournament and you know how superstitious players are. Hasn't used a rotor since. He has a spire now for a backup as well.

Thanks for making just the 260 bodies available at Chicago. Best thing we purchased all weekend.

About the spring ramp. I've elected not to get one for my 260. I don't think I'm getting lower than 75 balls before I'm reloading, and I'm pretty much keeping my hopper horizontal the whole time. I'm really just quite convinced the spring ramp isn't going to do anything for me whatsoever.

The Rotor, IMO, created a higher standard for loaders. Consistency, efficiency, and they're basically indestructible under normal playing conditions. The Spire260 is the first to improve upon that standard. It'll be interesting to see what DXS comes up with and if Dye can up the ante again.

So is the '260' supposed to be number of pballs or the cost?

I bought one a few weeks ago. I currently own a Z2 and a Rotor (and now the 260), in comparison I think the Spire took what I liked out of those loaders and combined them into one. I get less jams and a better filling capacity out of the Z2 but the Rotor is just all around more durable and easier to clean and put back together. The Spire 260 is all of those things. IDK if it fits a true 260 rounds, I don't really care. The best part of the loader is keeping relatively the same profile and being able to reload while still having 100 or so rounds left in the hopper.

So far I'm impressed. I think it sets the bar a little higher for the other manufacturers that want to put out a high end loader.

I tested the capacity of my 260 with Valken Infinity. I got 252 with the Crown SF and 255 with the lid. Numbers were the same with and without the spring ramp. My count includes balls loaded into the feedneck.

That's 250+ paintballs in the lowest profile loader on the market. No complaints here.
