Doesn't seem high to me. It's a complete shell not a top. A replacement Rotor shell will run you $60.

It's the bottom shell, top shell, button components, nose pieces (inside), badges, etc.

It's an entire Spire minus the tray and backshell. We did it this way so you can just upgrade without tools or swap back and forth without tools and interchanging parts. Just take the tray and backshell from your original hopper, plug them in and go. It's the easiest and fastest way to increase your capacity when compared to alternatives.

Yeah and that $60 rotor shell is just a shell with out the top lid, windows etc....

So $55 seems like a pretty damn good buy

Same here. The Spire NEEDS that ramp. When I switched from a Rotor to a Spire, that was the biggest issue I had. I almost returned the Spire due to it.

So the $205 price is for a Spire 260 with no ramp? The ramp is going to be released at a later date? That is surprising, I assumed both upgrades were going to be in the next release.

Figured I'd post these up here. Of varying audio/visual quality on some of them due to battery issues! Jesper shows off the spring ramp (btw which does not come with the 260, will be released at the same time and will retail for $10)

Not a hater lol! I actually would buy a Spire if it worked better for me...

Lots of ppl in those vids talking about holding lanes...with the original spire, and without the ramp its hard as hell to hold a lane. Dunno if its the speedfeed or how close the drive cone is to the opening, but its a PITA to get paint into a spire compared to Z2/Rotor. Always have to drop/shake your gun to get a pod in there. So now you guys are saying with an upgraded design (bigger shell so not so close to the drive cone?? and a ramp) that it works better? And, if thats true, at the cost of buying all these upgrades? Seems a bit silly. At the very least it seems like the ramp should be a free upgrade to existing owners.

Honestly, cant see ditching my Rotor anytime soon. Sure it jams some with crappy paint, but it works just fine 99% of the time. It has no programming and just works out of the box. All the guys I see with Spires have them pulsing non stop and acting goofy with different color lights. Even the z2 which has programming works out of the box and programming is hidden unless you go looking for it.

Check out 0:52 and 3:07

I just wanted to show a vid of what I am referring to in my last post. I have no clue how full their hopper was and I am sure you can find 100 vids of Rotors screwing up or not podding. Just jumped on social and clicked on the first vid of teams using Spires to find an example.

You can see both times the guy dumps 1/3 of his pod on the ground. Without knowing the specifics I am not saying this particular vid is some proof or anything. Just simply showing an example of what I am referring to where its hard to get paint into a Spire.

I haven't had any trouble loading paint into my Spire. Seems to feed just as easily as my rotor ever did. Jeff the funny thing is in that same video you posted there's a guy from Damage doing the same thing(actually loosing more paint it seems) with a rotor. Probably someone no looking and simply not squaring up on with the pod I think.

The first time I saw Tim Montressor use a standard Spire (actually the first few times) he reloaded way too soon and was always dumping 2/3 a full pod on the ground (sorry for making a poor example out of you Tim!)

I've got photo after photo and video after video of him doing it. He shoots a bit, thinks, "it's time to reload" and reloads.

I talked to him afterwards and he said it took some time to adjust because he wasn't used to the extra paint, plus he always just likes to reload as he has time.

*That's the issue* here at high level play. Whatever loader you have, you watch pro guys reload because they've got time, combined with the fact that they want to be topped off as much as possible. I think Jesper gets at this in the video I inserted above. He said it's not so much that he can always shoot a ton without reloading, but he still likes to reload around the same time so he's always topped off. Then when he "needs" that paint, he has it available. That's one reason I wanted to do these videos. I think a lot of players wanted to think through how the 260 benefited them when it wasn't as readily apparent at first. "Shoot more on the break" is only one aspect.

The other issue is guys are just frankly, and often, timed wrong and reloading too soon. I had someone email me the following...this is an actual email I'm paraphrasing: When we shoot through half a hopper and reload, we noticed all the paint didn't go in, is this because of the Spire drive?
Part of my reply included: 200 -100shot + 140pod reload= 240. You can't shoot 100 balls, and think it's time to reload and then expect all the paint to go in. And yet, this is what people do all the time. The "danger" window happens a lot sooner with other loaders. You have to "guess" just right when to reload or you waste a bit of paint. With the Spire you get a bit more room, but generally you don't reload exactly at the right time if you're super concerned about shooting and getting in the game rather than executing the perfect reload.

With the 260 (or any higher capacity loader) you do have more wiggle room when to reload.

This is a fact I never appreciated and was actually against higher cap loaders early on in development. It wasn't until I saw this benefit (and a few others I mentioned above) did I realize how helpful this is for a lot of players.

Finally, I don't really want to be going back and forth. If you're convinced there is a fundamental problem with the Spire or Virtue in various regards, I really don't want to get into this debate. We're trying to move forward and run our company the best we are able and the best we know how.

I don't have the pleasure of expecting perfection or absolute consistency from every possible/debatable viewpoint. Life isn't perfect and constructed from air tight arguments that are indisputable. Sorry if that seems like a cop-out, but left with the choice of giving you a somewhat messy reply that represents the messy reality of life in a world of 6 billion different opinions I chose to reply rather than ignore ya.
