Team Vicious giving back to the Paintball Community

These days it's a rarity that you see people give back to the community in which they are a part of. It's even scarcer to see someone give you something and expect nothing in return. It's common in the paintball tournament scene that you have to buy, sell or wear something to get something in return. I'm not one for doing a lot of writing about teams, the moves they make, players, coaches or anything about their day to day operations, but as I was searching through my Facebook feed I scrolled over Team Vicious FB page and was taken back. For those of you that haven't viewed what I'm talking about here's a link teamvicious I understand that there's more scuttle butt about teams making player moves, teams merging, what new markers are coming out or what's the new sandana trend, but it's things like this that get overlooked. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a team at the pro level, whether it be baseball, basketball, football, let alone paintball say they will give you money to help out and ask nothing in return. Everyone that is involved with paintball, whether it'd be watching, coaching, referee, or participant knows the financial burden we all face when it comes to this sport. Most of the time we find a way to make ends meet. We work more hours. Limit spending on things like movies, going out to dinner, fine clothing or expensive paintball markers. We even go as far as selling things we would have never thought of selling just so we can play. On the other end, there are also a number of people that are forced to leave the sport because of the financial burden. To see a team willing to go the extra mile, promote the sport and give back to teams that are struggling with probably the same situation they did when they started is commendable. If you look up the definition of an ambassador you'll see that it talks about a diplomat for a country living in another country. But there's an alternate definition. "An unofficial representative” To me Team Vicious is an ambassador to paintball. Their generosity to give back to the paintball community the way they are proves this to me. While other teams are worried about their players, coaches, practices or whatever else, Vicious is concerned about teams trying to make ends meet. There are no awards, special recognition or golden ticket to heaven for their generosity, but I tell you one thing, Team Vicious gained another fan tonight.

Have always pointed parents of kids that want to play from around our community to watch Red Sunday to see how family oriented paintball can be.

underdog, like I said, it's not the "normal news" we're used to seeing in the paintball community, but it's news I think people need to see.

Here is the information about it without having to click the link.

Hello Everyone,

Vicious had posted the following question on our Facebook page:

What is the biggest obstacle your team faces in paintball?

Money? Sponsorships? Travel? Finding players? Your jobs?

We got some amazing answers. Vicious started as a D3 Team and worked their way through every division until they hit pro. We faced the same problems every year that your divisional teams are still facing today.

We have always been a team that believes in giving back. We can't help you find players or get you off work or school to attend tournaments. We will give 5 paintball teams some financial help.

We are giving away $1000 each to 5 teams who need some financial help. The only thing you have to do is share your story on how it will help your team.

We have always helped fund local players and we would like to help a few teams that we may not even know in other areas.

You can send your story to us here through a message or I will post another link in our Vicious forum on PbNation. We will not share any stories if you tell us not to post them.

Deadline to submit a story will be February 10th. The five recipients will picked by the Vicious Organization and will be notified on February 14th.

Please include a team contact's information.
