Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but is it certified 100% that putting a few drops of oil into the 2 little holes in the asa ( while it is fully assembled onto the gun ) not only will help with reg creep, asa pin being stuck and not bleeding air etc but it is also COMPLETELY SAFE, and there is no way some oil can get into the HPA tank?

You'd have between 450-800psi pushing that oil away from the inside of the tank... I'd say you're pretty safe as long as you use synthetic and don't over do it.

It is 1000% safe

Only oil into the full nipple is dangerous, since the air is super-heated. That's where the combustion danger is.

It's impossible for oil to reverse from the Relay regulator through the pin valve and into the bottle.

Ok that clarifies it, ty very much.
Btw im a chemist so i know a thing or two about combustion and diesel effect, but the other day i tried to put some oil into my asa and my teammates forbid it saying OIL + HPA = KABOOM *-*. Couldn't argue vs 20 guys treating me like a pyromanic so i let it go...Hope this clarifies it once and for all

That what I was going to mention, that it's not necessarily the super-heated air that's of concern but rather the compression and static.

Oil entering the tank via the full nipple will exceed the flash point of the oil. Then you have a kaboom.

Any air discharging from the regulator is going to atmosphere and will cool. (i.e. no chance of combustion).

Be extremely careful when putting the reg pin back in it is extremely easy to over tighten it causing the pin to fracture. Mine snapped off inside the piston clean and flush had to order new piston and pin. Just wants to be barely tight over tighten and it will snap...

I've got a mini with reg creep did the usual cleaned regreased everything replaced the reg seat and it still creeps.. Any ideas? Did the drops of oil already as well...

Whats the point of working on it if it voids the warranty?

No where in the instruction manual does it indicate that taking apart the regulator voids the warranty. It simply states that damage due to disassembly of the regulator will not be honored under the warranty

I use a Dow 33 based lube on the piston orings when I've got it aparts. Regular paintball oil on the rest (cam/pin orings).

Thanks, unfortunately I snapped the regulator plunger into the piston. Should have looked at the diagram as well, didn't know that the housing cam was two-pieces, so I was trying to tighten the crap out of it to orient the slot. Didn't work so I though maybe I didn't tighten the plunger enough..well the little bugger snapped with barely much force.

So I finally got the parts in to fix the regulator that I broke (see above post).

I can't recall if this is normal or not, but I have the psi set to 170, but airs up to 160 psi and slowly creeps to the targeted 170 psi. Is that an indiction of needing oil?

Also, when I release the asa, sometimes it doesn't release air at all, but it would always release it once I pull the trigger to lower the psi.

Any ideas?

FYI, it is a Axe with a Mini regulator...Kee was out of Axe gauges =(

See the attached video:

The new reg pin might need some time to get seated well with your reg seat. Give it some time... perhaps a few drops of oil. Should settle in over time.

As for the degass process... some guns degass quickly without firing... some don't. I have 2 Axes... and one goes quick... the other not so much.

This all has to do with the cam pin not moving freely enough... lube can help some guns. One some guns theres really nothing you can do to change it. I'd leave this one alone..

I notice the slow degas process as well. I have a new axe maybe 5 cases through it. When I first purchased it it would degas right when I flipped the lever. Only the last time I took it out it eouldnt degas untill a few seconds maybe ten. And the very last time I think I waited and waited and decided to fire to see whatd happen and it made it degas.
I don't plan on taking the reg apart. (Unless really recomended) which is what I'm wondering... is there a purpose other than to fix a problem? I don't hear to many people talking about doing maintenance on there regs. I can comftorably take the rest of the marker completely apart but Id really not like to mess up the warranty. Any body know the turnaround time on getting a reg back from them after they service it?

I've never had to send a gun in. The first time I had an issue, Kee just shipped a brand new Relay to me. Kinda wasteful in my opinion.

That's why I decided to order all the parts, repair it myself and make this thread for others to do the same.

Sending the gun in is great if you're a recreational player. I need my markers to work every time they come out of the bag. If they don't, I've got minutes - not days or weeks to get it working.
