G5 emergency

Does anyone happen to know what the thick black ring on the g5 bolt is called? And if they are common parts. I'll attach pictures as well. The manual doesn't say what it is.

I'm planning on playing tomorrow morning. And I opened up my bolt to grease it after firing a case in my yard. I need to get this part asap.

It's called bumper O-ring. Your bumper O-ring broke. You gonna have to call DP's customer service to get a replacement. They don't sell that parts anywhere except DP. That happen to this guy also, check out his thread. http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3952635

I wonder if the those grooves in the breach have anything to do with the bumpers breaking. if so then i think there is a major design flaw in the g5

Would the stock G4 bolt work as a temporary replacement?

I don't have one on hand but I think it should.

Nope. I'm pretty sure the G5 backcap stem is longer than the G4 backcap stem. With the G4 bolt, there may not be enough time/distance on the forward stroke to clear enough of the G5 backcap stem and get sufficient air flow out the bolt.

Now.....a G4 bolt AND backcap may work. If the OP doesn't have access to that combo, it's time to pull out a backup to rock until that bumper gets replaced.

I checked out the DP website to order a couple of these bumpers. They are $2 each. So on my $4 order, they want $14 (lowest, highest is $130) for shipping. The shipping options are all UPS. They are the WORST for small items. I sent DP customer service a message asking for more shipping options. Hopefully they will listen.

DP confirmed to me over the phone that you can use a G4 PMD with the G5 bolt.

So, therefore, a G4 backcap should also work with a G5 bolt.

I'm curious to know how well a G4 back cap would work. Especially since it looks like it would start venting before the bolt would be all the way forward with those holes drilled in the back of the bolt.

Has me wondering also, I checked mine, its not showing any signs of wear yet on the bolt or in the body.

I talked to DP today, sent in pictures and they told me that the type of lube can eat away at the bolt bumper.
