We all have different tastes, right? I'm just trying to get my post count above 5.

I personally would never drive a green C4 (nor a C4 period), but that's just me.

Friend (01 gt) sold his cobra r wheels and tires and bought oem 03' cobra wheels with 555's up front and DR's in the back. I think he got the setup for ~650 and they have less than 3k on the tires. What a steal

Merican

C4 weren't a great Vetter. C5's were a huge difference with the LS motor.

These are painted. They look really good.

exactly 0% of those people posted on a paintball forum for advice before painting them....not trying to be a dick but i almost call shens on the cts-v because of how noob you seem

Generalizing c4 vettes is stupid. There were 6 different motor variations, 3 different transmissions, and multiple suspension and interior changes. Calling a c4 bad because the c5 is better is like calling a c5 bad because the c6 is better

Do whatever you want. I promise I won't instantly jump on any mod you do and "generalize" by calling it gay. Now, thanks for the 4 - 5 posts.

in 2013 terms the c5 is bad, because the c6 exists

exceptions are the zr-1 and z06

It's all relative. Just because the c6 is out doesn't mean the c5 is a bad car, it just doesn't perform as well. It's still a good car for the money, just like later c4's are good cars for the money.

And spec-wise the zr-1 isn't amazing. It handles worse and isn't really faster than an lt-4 car. It's just a cool *** motor. For a street driven car, there's a lot more to it than numbers on the spec sheet

C4's were the red headed step child of vette's sledge hammer was a stupid fast car but the C4's were during a bad time for horse power. LT engines had multiply problem Cross fire injection was a bad Flop! LT4's were good 330 horse I think was their rating. LT5 was the first and only Vette with OHV's the motor was built by Mercury Outboard and Lotus motor company. Most fast C4's don't really have original LT series engines. The LS was special cause they are bullet proof plus they were built from the ground up.

Crossfire is a **** motor, I'll give you that. L98 doesn't have a lot of hp or a great powerband, but aside from ****ty stock injectors they're easy to make decent power with, and they're very reliable. Lt-1's have opti spark issues, but later years have vented dizzys and are more solid. The lt-4 was an improvement on that, and were severely under rates because the ls1 was coming out. Lt-4 cars run damn close with ls1 c5's. lt-5's are good motors but extremely expensive to mod.

C4's get **** talked a lot, and its usually ignorance. The later years (89+) were much better cars as far as build quality goes. The Dana 44 holds up to a ton of abuse, the zf6 transmission is great, and aside from a few motor quirks they were pretty solid. The big issue is frame rigidity, but there are fixes for that.

I'm not saying the LS isn't good, but the motors before it weren't all ****. People are obsessed with ford 302 motors yet they were rated at less hp and break sooner than tpi motors.

The problem is c4's aren't old enough or good looking enough to fit in with the classi vettes, and they can't compete with the newer vettes, so people consider them trash. In reality they're straightforward to work on, easy to make power with, and fun to drive

You are right about the C4's I still love the 96 Grand sports colors and interior.
