Elctronics question

so i was thinking about how markers work (electronic), and then i came across the axe. now if you look at a nxt board for example ( http://www.ansgear.com/Hater_Paintba...ockerboard.htm see here) the microswitch/whatever mechanism it uses is on the main board it self however on the axe this is impossible because of the bulk of the electronics being in the front. how does that work with the microswitch being in the grip while the bulk of the electronics being in the fro

The micro switch is connected to the board just like and other marker. Its just remotely attached to the board via a ribbon or wiring harness. But the switch is still behind (or on top) of the trigger like every other marker..

Just cause its not directly soldered onto the board does not change how it works..
