barrel threads stripping?!

so, yesterday (saturday), my friend was playing with my 08 ego..i have a deadlwinds barrel with a freak kit (12in) on it...it usually shoots lasers..(just to note, i also have a replay camera taped to my barrel). he comes off the field, and the barrel is all loose...then i try to tighten it, and it just starts spinning inside the threads...then someone said they were reallllllyyyy stripped. so he sold me a ultralite for $25 (that apparently is glued together so i cant break it into the two peices like usual)..soo yea..what could have caused it? ive been using it since like september-ish with no problems...but what could have caused this? overtightening? someone said my camera (which i got december 21), could have helped it some...

Pics of the barrel compared to a ul and stock eclipse shaft 3

How old is the barrel? Unfortunately, the "Autococker" threads is not defined as a set of specifications, so gun makers and barrel makers try to make them all fit as close as possible. This means that some guns will fit tight and some will be lose, like your friends Ego, to the point of stripping out. I'd be willing to bet his gun was pretty worn already. Does the barrel still fit in your gun after stripping out in his? Mounting a camera to the barrel would not affect it at all btw.

Are you saying the gun body threads are worn or the barrel threads where the 2 pieces meet are worn?

the gun is mine, he was borrowing it for a recball game...and no...we tried the barrel in my gun, and in a friends macdev, and it would not tighten...i put a strip of electrical tape around the threads and it tightened up, but i havent tested it out yet

PICS? I have never heard of a barrel stripping. I have heard of the breach and barrel threads galling together but never truly stripping.
