Etek 3 regulator halves won't separate
Another stuck regulator thread. I don't have a problem with getting the two halves apart. Yes I removed the macro fitting...yada yada. I know how to do it. Tomorrow it goes under the power of two padded strap wrenches. But I just wanted to make this thread to see if/how people have encountered Etek 3 HPR regulators where the two halves just absolutely won't separate no matter how hard you try, without the use of strap wrenches, heating/cooling, chemicals, or vices. Anyone have this problem with Etek 3 HPR regulators, or any Etek/Ego HPRs for that matter? I know I have seen a thread or two about it.
*UPDATE*
Separated the reg halves. Now need a newer dust red swivel collar for my dust black one since the older collars won't work on newer Eclipse regs.

Screw the velocity adjuster screw in all the way and get the large size Allen wrenches for the top part and the lower part of the regulator and separate. Much better than strap wrenches.

Ahhh I was going to strap wrench the top and put an Allen in the bottom. But what your saying is put a really big Allen in the top half as well so you don't have to use the strap wrench...correct?

The top portion should have a slot for a large sized Allen, not sure which size specifically but it should. |

3/8ths top half, 5/16ths bottom half = Came right apart. Hope this helps out future readers with similar problems.
