I'm very pleased to have one of the 3 Flame Intimidators back in my possession.
This marker was the second one to be sold off by the Ripper Machinist on PBN back in April of 2005, the first being the Red/Chrome Flame.
It was passed around by a few people until a fellow Gun Whore named Pope Newb offered the gun to me for my XSV Ego and a few other things in December 2005.
Here are some pictures I took of it when I first received it in December 2005.
*I took many more pictures but don't have the hard drive anymore and unfortunately imageshack, the website I used to host all of them, deleted everything. These are the only pictures I took that remain.*
It was the pride of my entire collection and I really was not planning on selling it, but being the Gun Whore I was, I had to still post a BST listing. Eventually, a user traded me over a bunch of markers that I later sold for $2500. Not a bad profit but it left a hole in my heart. No other gun I owned lived up to the Flame Intimidator. I later quit paintball, went to college, and started a company. Nearly 10 years later I was still frequently thinking about the marker and decided that I MUST have it...
I followed the lineage of the marker through various BST threads on several forums and traced it down to a user living in Hawaii. He didn't have a thread open for it but I PMed and emailed him relentlessly until he agreed to consider selling it. Eventually, after a few months of negotiations, we finally made a deal and he shipped it to me.
And that brings us to today:
I was absolutely amazed at the condition. The body's anno is still immaculate. There is one pin-sized nic by the bolt and that's it. I couldn't believe it when I got it. There is no fade, no scratches, no issues whatsoever. I was pretty worried about the condition before buying it because a few people online had been saying they were both in poor condition but that is definitely unfounded. This Flame Timmy is pristine.
Externally, I am currently planning on returning most of it to stock. Already got stock eye covers. Still need the feedneck, torpedo regulator, bolt pin, and LPR.
For modifications, I will leave the 2k5 frame on it as the anno job is exceptionally good.
I just put a Techna Scythe on it yesterday. Looking to get some black/red brand new hybrid grips and black/red Dye Ultralight barrel.
I still need to go through and thoroughly clean it, though it is already very clean.
I also need to remove that hideous gauge. I might go with one of the mini ones or just plug it... Not sure on that yet.
So 9 years, 6 months later, we're reunited and let me tell you, it feels so damn good
The Flame Intimidator reminds me of some of the best times of my life when I had it 9 years ago. I have so many fond memories of this marker from showing it off to friends to pouring pods of paint out of it in the snow in my backyard to seeing the comments online when I shared it and learning about its remarkable history. I'm just glad it's back with me and I fully intend to keep it indefinitely.
I will update the thread with our progress. Enjoy!

"Hey, buddy, can you come here and shoot out the left side for me? My remote line doesn't let me...."
Look at your comment. Back to mine. Back to yours NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate crap it could LOOK like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through the comments, finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine, what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Look again, MY COMMENT IS NOW DIAMONDS.
Modernize the darn thing and go play with it. If not it's just a waste. Smaller feedneck, smaller front block, plug the gauge and balance your regs blind like a real man. Flash the board, get a cut bolt. Don't change the eye covers the kapps are great from a functional point of view.
I have a similar story. Much less valuable of a gun but as you know when something means a lot it's worth more then going value. I left paintball in 07 for school and money reasons. Came back last year and I had to have my first speedball gun back. I kicked myself for selling it for years, even after I left and had no plans to return. Anyways I searched and searched for something identical to replace it or even my old gun. I looked for months and found nothing acceptable. Until I seen a Craigslist posting locally. Had nothing that resembled my marker or gear but I clicked it hoping to find a old flex mask or anything old for collection. Instead I found my old marker, hopper, tank, pod pack, and even pods! Turns out the guy I sold it to never really used it and it was just in the garage left to collect dust. It all looked nearly like I sold it. I ended up leaving his house with all my gear for $100 because he remembered me. I was only maybe 13 when I sold it all to him. Now being a adult he knew it meant a lot to me. It stays in a box now and I'm just greatful to have it back. It's a time peace from my childhood that I still follow to this day. Paintball was and is always on my mind since I was in late elementary to early middle school and now I'm 21 and play almost weekly and competitively. The gun was just a Dynasty Ion with some upgrades, but I worked hard to earn that marker asy parents didn't approve really so I managed to save and play off a case of paint a month. Most of the time the guys at the field as a kid let me clean bunkers for entry and air. Also helping counter and cleaning off the field to earn extra paint. But I would take those days back in a heart beat. The friends, good times, memory's, and just overall fun of paintball is what I still chase to this day. Sorry for thread jacking, I just wanted to share my similar story.
My pic in 07
My current pic, I tossed on the cp on/off to test gun. That barrel condom was also mine from 07 still on it.
wow. Glad you were able to track it back down. Although my gun isn't as nostalgic as the flame, my Red/Black Alias will never leave my side either. Having an intimidator you absolutely love is priceless
