need help with physics project about barrels (should be a quick thing)

so im looking for F=MA with a paintball at 300 fps (91.44m/s)
distance is 6 inches (0.1524 meters) (freak control bore length)
i have no idea what the time is * hence my problem*

i need to find the acceleration of the ball with only the distance and the final velocity.

i found a guide that says square the velocity and devide it by the distance times 2 and i got this.

91.44ms*91.44ms = 8361.2736 (ms)^2
.1524m x2 = .3028m
8361.2736 / .3028 = 27613.18890356671 ms^2
does 27,613 meters per second per second make sense? i cant wrap my brain around that.

Using this formula on ehow your math seems correct. It does seem like a high number, but remember, the ball is accelerating to full speed in a fraction of a second.

You could try to record the sound, then slow it down to find the time between trigger click ball leaving the barrel back. Since there's no porting, the sound of the ball leaving the barrel should be pretty distinct. According to your calculations, you're looking for somewhere in the ballpark of 3 millionths of a second.
