Lightbulb Keep Dye Rotor or get Virtue Spire?

As the title suggests, I am in a pickle about whether to break down and get a Spire or not. The last time I was in this situation, I spent almost $200 on a V1 empire prophecy only to buy a teammate's black rotor with mesh speed-feed a month later. Money isn't so much an issue, so if I may retain my Rotor and pick up a Spire and sell the lesser after testing. But if someone can really argue the point and save me the trouble that would be great!

When I was looking into getting a new hopper a few weeks ago I was looking at the rotors and the Spire. I got a Axe Pro LE and ended up going with the Spire. I will never look back or regret going with the Spire, it has functioned extremely well and the disassembly is so easy. I have about 4 cases through that spire, and ended up getting another one because I found the color that I really liked. I think they are definitely worth the money.

If you have a rotor no need to get a spire I'd say they're about equal.

Do you have any issues with your rotor?

If not..don't waste your money. The rotor is amazing.

If you play in hot or humid climates and really long games where your paint is getting really really hot out in the sun sitting in your loader and in your pods, and your rotor is starting to jam..then you should pick up a spire (or a z2)

But mostly, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Some rotors are duds, some z2's are duds, some spires look to be duds. Why risk a dud when you have a sweet rotor as it is?

Untrue. I play in florida. 70 in December and even hotter in the summer. I've never had a problem.

i went from a rotor to a spire i like it more but idk if it was worth the extra $ its a close call it is alot nicer but burns up batteries about 2x as fast as rotors

easy to program with nice options

the only reason i switched was here in MN my rotor would occasionally jam out of round paint during tournaments

From an experience standpoint, I have to say this is not true.

I'd get maybe 5-8 days out of a Rotor before the batteries started to affect the performance. My Spire is still doing just fine on the batteries I got in September, including 10 playing days and quite a few days where I just screwed around with my gun all day.

I have only changed my rotor batteries like once a year. Thinking of doing a 9volt mod to get better performance but less efficiency.

Damn u guys are real negative Nancy's has anyone other than me actually tried it? It can run on 2 9 volts and goes through batteries once a month as opposed to once a year.

Smart - 9 volts cost like 2 dollars per unit. That is why it isn't worth it. Way more expensive. At that cost you can get 3x energizer L91 lithium AA's for about 2 dollars per unit + tax full retail price and change your batteries every 2+ years and be lighter weight to boot. L91 lithiums are a lot lighter than alkaline batteries.

I bought a Spire when they first came out. It worked great, fed great, looked great, held a lot of paint, etc.

I had the original speedfeed, too.

The problem for me was when I was posted, I couldn't get a full refill while keeping my gun horizontal (on lane) because of the central spire thing.
I'd have to tip forward to fully load.
I understand that the new speedfeed mitigates this.

I traded the Spire for a Rotor plus cash and bought a Seed kit.

The only thing I miss is the 200 round capacity on breakout laning... I MAY get a high cap top for that reason.
