That would make a lot of sense if that was my other issue besides the leak. The chopping while ramping issue.

Oh how happy I will be when all this is fixed.

what lube are you using?
I had the same problem with my Axe with blowback and barrel leak and it turned out the lube I was using wasn't thick enough. I was using Hater Sauce and then I got Sleek from Boss and it works perfect now.
I found with using the sleek if my Axe still has blowback then I didn't put enough sleek on the bolt guide and bolt.
Try that, I went through a lot and I eventually found out my problems were from something that simple.
Hope you get your Axe going.

Been using Sleek. But it is def the poppet that is the problem in relation to the barrel leak. I swapped parts with my friends axe yesterday and it sealed with his poppet. I also put my poppet in his and it leaked

I've got a new poppet, check valve, infamous orings, and more sleek on the way from boss. Maybe I'll put it on a bit thicker. Next time.

I'm pretty hopefully about things with the new parts. Hoping the check valve solves my chopping and/or bolt timing issues and the poppet should solve the barrel leak.

Imma be shooting ropes when everything is corrected.

And I can finally play more instead of having gun issues.

Putting the lube on thicker won't do anything but mask the issue and create some new ones. I think the boss orings will benefit you anyway and the check valve and poppet will fix your problems.

I had boss orings perviously but still had the leak. I think everything else will fix the issue though.

At least I'm pretty hopeful.

Ah man. Usually I'm that unlucky guy who always seems to buy the ONLY broken gun a store has I stock lol! Any way, the bolt guide may help but or that leak check those orings on the bolt engine, if ANY seem clipped, or anything, replace it. And lube the bolt, usually when guns leak down the barrel it's an easy fix like an oring or some lube. I'm pretty sure that the lube is your problem. If you already have lubed the bolt then try some sl33k or a Dow 33 based lube, I like to put some Dow 33 and Planet Eclipse gun oil on my finger and mix it a bit.

Yeah, dude... that's why I said the other 2 things will fix the issues, but the boss orings are a worthwhile upgrade anyway. I am curious though why you'd buy a whole poppet and not just the oring and face? There's not just a whole lot that can go wrong with the poppet itself. A players kit has some spare poppet faces, check valves (that may have been in my other kit, but I don't remember), and the urethane poppet oring. Anyway, be sure to let us know when it is fixed.

There was a thread awhile back where a guy had a leak down the barrel. He did everything he possibly could to get it to stop except for replacing the poppet itself. A new poppet fixed his problem. I know it doesn't make a lot of sense but apparently it can happen.

I'd have suggested him polish it like Lurker suggests, but hey, if it gets fixed then .

Yeah I may polish it. I have with previous poppets. I didn't buy just the plastic face because I can't get them off the old ones.

I didn't get the players kit cause boss had them sold out.

As long as it gets fixed that's all I care. And it really should with these parts.

I can't get them off without destroying them either. I have to grab a lip with some needle nose pliers and twist the poppet.

That's why I figured I would get a new poppet.

UPDATE:

Ok so I put the new poppet in and everything was good to go. No leak. Chronoing pretty decent.

So I let it sit overnight. Picked it up the next morning and it would not even get out of the barrel. Not sure if I didn't have enough air but I was at like 1000psi so I should've been good.

Tried and tried and tried and the highest I could get was 200. Then I just started dry firing and did start to run out of air but them ALL of a sudden it developed a barrel leak AGAIN. I have run through everything AGAIN (poppet, solenoid, bolt guide orings) and still have the leak EXCEPT when I put my back cap alll the way in. When screw the back cap out it starts to leak. Any ideas?

I know you might not like to hear this but I think the best option at this point is send it to empire. They have great customer service and this point you have everything you could on your own. Call them up and I'm sure they can fix you up.

Well I'm headed to the paintball shop later today to see if that got another poppet and see if it seals up.

Alright, I wish you luck. I just know the one time I managed to snap the tube that goes into the ASA(the asa had some slight wiggle and I got tripped causing the tube to get crushed.) I sent it to them and in like 3 weeks I got it back with zero wiggle room. They'll hook you up if you don't get it worked out on your own.

He is quite the good looking man. Now I just can't get it to chrono. But gonna go through it tonight and hopefully tmrw it will be good.

Couldn't get it above 220 with stock bolt. I even raised dwell and adjusted back cap.

I swear I think the reg gauge is off.

I went out for the first time this year and chopped just about every ball I shot even though I was only chronoing in the 250's. At the end of the day balls weren't even coming out the barrel anymore and my hopper lid randomly flew open. So my blowback problem is back and now I need to clean out my whole gun. I've already shipped my gun to Empire once before but looks like I might have to do it all over again.
