EGO 8 vs AXE
Talked to a lot of people about both the Axe and EGO 8. Just wondering what would be better. Axe would be brand new, the EGO is obviously from 2008 but it is a 1200 dollar gun. Would it be worth it to go new or stay with the EGO that always shoots great?

In my opinion, if you already own an Ego (Which it appears you do), get the Axe.

I'd take an Axe over an Ego
Then again I'd take most things over an Ego because Egos really aren't that great.

MUCH smoother, quieter, about equal efficiency, lifetime warranty (Kee > all as far as customer service is concerned)and macroless. With a boss or eigenbolt it is just that much better.

Axe and Axe Pro are the same gun, just that the Pro comes with an OLED.
The only Ego I'd ever begin to consider would be the new LV1.

Yeah, stock Axe is plenty of gun. The OLED board is kinda a gimmick since the Axe has a stock board that is great to begin with.

between the two, the Axe. An 08 Ego may have been 1200 in 08, but it isnt worth that now in 2013. I don't actually know what it's worth is, but I do know the Axe is one hell of a performer thats also cheaper then an Etek, quieter, smoother and once broken in a 35.00 bolt will yield you more shots off a 68/4500 then a similarly upgraded Ego. I get about 10 pods off 1 fill on my Axe.

Wow, lots of anti ego. Ego 8 is solid, cheaper than bnib axe and is a more reliable platform. Personally, the strength of egos is their durability, ease of maintenance, and ability to perform within 90% of their potential ALL the time. To summarize, when you pull an ego out of your gear bag, whether that be every weekend or after a year long break, it will perform how it is expected to. It is simply a workhorse high end marker.
Nothing against the axe. I've heard good things, it is clearly popular for a reason, and the Times I've shot it have not left me disappointed. I'm just a huge fan of reliability, and ego owns that market.
A side note on a previous post, eclipse has incredible customer service. To say another company is better at cs is subjective at best, as pe will go above and beyond to help both new and used customers. I'm sure kee is great, Several of my friends teams enjoy their kee sponsorships for this reason, but it would not be an arguing point. Now, if you mentioned DP customer service.....lol. I keed , ikeed.
Gl choosing, both are solid options. I would choose the ego 8 for it's track record of performance and reliability.

Ehhh... Of the Egos/Eteks I've used I've had more issues than the Axe that I've had. The thing is that with the Axe there are less points of failure. Now, if you know WHAT the issue is in the Ego it's a much faster fix, but troubleshooting time is much higher.

Right? I can't believe how many people prefer an Axe to the Ego 8. I love my Ego but I have not really had a chance to shoot an Axe. Closet thing I have had to experience with an Axe was my mini. I loved the mini. It was really easy and simple to use, just way too small. It was a great marker for the price.

if the only reason why you didnt like the mini was because it was too small then you'll love the axe.
my ego is a tank though.

Foregrip extenders aren't too much for a Mini anymore. But as deadly mentioned, you'll love the Axe if the Mini's size was your only issue.

Honestly... I'm 6'2" and I don't see what all the *****ing about marker size is...
I can play with a Mini just fine because I don't grab the entire side of the marker, I grab the front of the marker. I can play the same with a cocker, I can play the same with an Ego, I can play the same with an Axe, I can play the same with a Luxe. Although, that's another can of worms...

You're not just wrong, you're dead wrong. I bough a used axe and so far Kee sent me a new board, new relay and a new solenoid for FREE. Having owned multiple PE guns, they won't do anything like that for you. The most they've sent me for free were some screws. It's really not subjective, it's factual.

My teammate had his noid go out and they sent him a new one, and it was a used gun. Kee has great customer service. You can't contest that.
I was so damn against the Axe because of the size and realistically I couldn't imagine a gun that cost 459$ to be on par with my GT. I used it... I wouldn't say it is better than my GT but it is not that bad. Ego is loud as hell and while yes it is a tank.... You asked which we would recommend
