Yeah they would have. I just snagged 12 VERY pregnant female guppies and 4 males. I set up a tank with a plastic grass matt and some moneywort plant. Half the tank is bare bottom and the other half has a little gravel to hold plants down. 29 gallons should be plenty for them.

I considered platys as well. If these guppies don't have fry in the next 3 weeks (they should be laying any day now), then they will join my clown knives in the large tank and will be summarily replaced with another fish.

Definitely link to MFK, that's a great source of info. Maybe list the common posters and a few of their fish. That way new-comers can ask questions to specific members based on their fish.

Also, post this link.

i'll form a general outline for important information, for instance -

I. Beginners
....A. Useful Links
........1. blah
........2. blah
....B. Freshwater
........1. blah blah blah.
........2. blah blah blah.
....C. Saltwater
........1. blah blah blah.
........2. blah blah blah.
II. Miscellaneous
....A. List Of Users
........1. blah
........2. blah
........3. blah

but yeah, you get the picture, a typical outline, i just need to get all the info together first. we could get a list of users going, what type of set up they have, the equipment they use, their stocking list, etc.

That's pretty cool. I would like to add more plants to my tank, but I don't want to get into CO2/O2 addition.

Edit: this guppy tank is cool. I need more plants though, but they are pretty fun to watch. They will eat, literally, anything I put in front of them. So I feed them balanced flakes and frozen brine shrimp. Good nutrients for my clowns.

i'm pretty sure you can get results like that w/out a co2 system, it'll just take longer. that was my dilemma as well when deciding on a heavily planted tank.

that liquid co2 booster stuff works.

Moving fishtanks sucks dude, plain and simple! Thank god I don't move my ****.

JC I was looking at it, along with some seachem plant additives too. I'll give it a try, but I need to pick some more plants.

Ive had great luck with java ferns under subpar conditions. Mine grows like a weed. If a take a few sprouts of and put them somewhere else it with have 10 new leaves in less than two weeks. Java moss on the other hand i somehow managed to kill in less than a week.

When i moved my tanks i went and bought two cheap plastic trash cans. Filled them with half of my water and put all my fish in the cans. The tank i left decorated and it was still a pain in the ***. Luckily no casualties

Java fern eh? I like the look, but I was worried I'd kill it.

Do you add anything to the tank? I've got, maybe, 10 plants in my 120 (if that). I'd like to add a few more hiding places in the 29 gallon as well, even though the guppies are stoked as hell to have that much space.
