Live plants are the best. I'm running my 29 with maybe 8 plants and I love it. Seachem plant supplements really really help!
I'm running seachem flourish tabs and not seeing too much growth. Are you using the seachem flourish liquid supplement?

Yeah, I got the flourish liquid as well as the API plant food (it was like $3 so whythe****not?)

My plants that were brown are now bright green and my good healthy plants (moneywort) are now vibrant and spreading roots like crazy.

Also, zebra morays are awesome. I just need to find a good source for food.

those things eat like they have a damn hole in their neck.

also, the powerhead was the source of my anubias eating ****. i didn't realize that all the water flow completely stopped in the tank. once i got it working again they bounced back. lost a few fronds on the one but otherwise it is alright

Good to hear it! I'm glad your problem is getting corrected.

Yeah, I heard they are pretty voracious eaters when they are big. You guys are going to love mine

you could get those cheapo goldfish at like a petsmart, unless they have a saltwater feeder fish

I'm more looking for squid, scallops, shrimp, mussels, etc.

I got some at costco but I think it goes through boiling water before bagging.

goldfish are not good feeders since they are fatty as all hell and have very little nutrients. you should only feed them every once and a while.

if you are going to feed live your best bet is to establish a colony of mollies or guppies. they are small but at least you know what they are feeding on and they are more healthy than strait gold fish.

Yeah, I bred guppies for my clown knives.

However, saltwater is a new conundrum. He will eat live shrimp, but I haven't found any of good size for a reasonable feeding price.

Oh yeah, he's a big boy. Forgot to mention that

He should be here Wednesday

His shipment was delayed due to insufficient packing materials. He's too big for standard shipping boxes.

So they are driving him down in the morning, or up. I don't know what dealer he is coming from.

I'm picking him up precisely at 0900. If all goes well, he will only have been in a transit container for 5 hours. I guess they are setting up a 29 gal tank to bring him down

Seriously, this was best case scenario. I'm so stoked.

He ate almost a whole bag of silversides this morning! He kept his head out of the water and let me drop them in his mouth. It was probably the best feeding experience I've ever had.

Thanks. He's awesome, so aware of his surroundings and so precise with his movements. Such a pleasure to watch him do his thing.

I might be picking up a dragon moray and volitan lion from a coworker that's moving. Straight to the LFS with them, TMO is coming to pick up his **** on like Monday so he's giving/selling them to me.

I actually sold them en route to the fish store.

My tesselata ate a HUGE shrimp. He stole it off the canopy while I was breaking another shrimp into smaller pieces. He ate the whole thing. THE WHOLE ****ING THING!!

I went to my tank this morning when I got up, and I found one of my neon tetras was laying dead on the gravel .. It was probably due to me moving plants around, but now I'm down to:

2 Mollies
3 Neon Tetras
1 Cory
1 Ghost shrimp
1 Apple Snail & 7 babies

I plan on adding another sword bundle tomorrow, but are there any fish I can put into the 14gal tank? I was thinking a small swordtail or another 1 or 2 neon tetras.

Red/blue tetras are cool and a bit bigger than neons.

Sup dudes? I bought a 29 gallon aquarium on craigslist with the stand, hood/light, undergravel filter, Aquaclear 70 filter, heater, and air pump. Everything's up and running but no fish yet because I'm letting it cycle. Anyways, I want to get some red lava rocks to put in it. Does anyone know where I can buy big chunks of red lava rocks besides a pet store?
