Hey guys,
I have an ion with an older blackheart board (black wrap, red logo).
I am able to cycle through the modes and change settings but the ion fires with an empty breech with the eyes on.
It currently has virtue laser eyes that light up when it is on but it blinks each time the trigger is pressed along with it firing.
Have you tried a different eye wire? I know for a fact that when I had a problem with my board sensing a ball in the breech when it was empty, it was due to a bad eye wire.

I've tried a different one as well. There was a pinch in one of the wires but I used a multimeter to check the connection between both pins. I'll double check again in all wires to see connectivity.
In the stock ion with a new ANS laser eye. Just bought the ans laser and noticed that it was acting funny. It seems that the laser was weak and was not reading even in the breech. Notice when I block the light from the light bulb it wasn't working properly.
I took the LED out and installed a red 11000MCD LED. works like a champ now
As far as the blackheart, I blame it on ignorance. I'm used to the virtue board and didn't realize that it is supposed to blink rapidly after turning it on. It isn't until I pressed the trigger that it began to read that the breech was empty
