Bring cup back to wide world of sports!

I saw a nerf gun at target that had a sticker advertising world championships of nerf at wide world of sports. PSP needs to get back there! Anyone know why it got switched to fantasy of flight?

Probably because it is a cheaper alternative. Having an event in the Disney complex is not cheap.

Apparently Disney wanted significantly more money. Think they might have put something where the fields were also, could be mistaken

Not to mention that 6 years later we're still defending frivolous lawsuits from paintball players who thought they could file suit and Disney would just write them a big check like in the movies.
The Disney venue went up 250% in 4 years. They were also pushing for us to make everyone stay in Disney hotels at $150 per night. Those issues, along with the annual legal bill associated with defending lawsuits, combined to make leaving Disney a very simple, easy, and necessary decision.

Honestly, did not know about the lawsuits. I had heard the Disney was charging PSP out the nose and wanted them to move where they were playing to an area with worse grass/land.

Sad to hear that some of our own were part of the reason, but I do appreciate you coming in here to let everyone know the reasoning Lane. I always wondered what the deal was/if we would ever go back. Thanks for the clarification.

I imagine you can't comment on pending litigation, but one the off chance you can, what were players filing suit over?!

Bolingbrook was a great site, but having it literally over the fence from a neighborhood made me a bit nervous.

Disney was a more attractive venue compared to FOF... FOF is literally in the middle of no where and staying there for five days was boring compared to disney but all that matters is having a place to host events and the psp does a good job making sure their events are top notch.

if you go to an event without transportation set up then it's your own fault

Could someone enlighten the uninformed about the lawsuits that occurred between players and disney? and why psp would have to pay any legal fees if they were neither plaintiff nor defendant?

I can't speak to the lawsuits, but I might be able to answer the second question: I'm guessing as part of their use contract, PSP had to agree to assume a certain degree (if not all) of liability instead of WWOS. So if someone sued Disney they would really be suing PSP in part, or maybe even in full.

How would you go to a PSP event without transportation? lol Camp at the field?

Most players drive to the tournament. If you don't drive, you rent a car.

some teams have one reliable means of transportation to the field example a van or suv maybe two cars... if your one of the few like I was that relied on others to drive and rent then I had to go along with what they wanted to do or where they wanted to driveto .. thats what I meant. So basically if you dont rent your own vehicle or if your teammates dont feel like going anywhere then your stuck in a lakeland hotel. come at me bro
