Mediums are super annoying. I haven't tried any others, but yea, it's just like uhhhh what the **** is that NOISE?!
Edit: Did some quick tests in the training thingy and it does seem that no matter how far away you are ppc's do the same damage over "optimal" 540m range. Under 90m min range they still do damage, but it's almost like plinking away with a small pulse laser. Artemis guided missiles do have a different track again, they seem to shoot up, then down like they originally did, but not at such a sharp and high arc like the old flight path. Also, much, much tighter groupings of lrms, it's like they are rotating barrels of a gatling gun. Artemis definitely got a boost and is more useful for lrms, expect to see a lot more lrm boats with tag. Srm's with artemis have a slight improvement, but nothing spectacular, as they were pretty spot on already. Once I have enough money for another stalker variant I'll probably put srm4's with artemis instead of srm6's and run with a tag to supplement them since I'll have 1 more laser slot and 1 less missile slot on whichever variant I pick now.

The spread seemed to be the same in terms of up and down, but side to side definitely tightened up when firing 1 srm. For my stalker it doesn't seem to have made a difference.
Had a helluva last round with creamy, went 5/2 and got 1 leg shot off by an atlas, leaving me a sitting duck for their 3l, managed to do enough damage on him for creamy to finish him off while chasing each other around the enemy cap. Came right down to the wire, but creamy pulled it off

I've noticed all 4 of ny srm6s seem to fly straight out of ny A1s ears out to about 100m, then spread.

Hmm, I'll see if I can test that tonight. Flight path also depends on how far away the target under your reticule is. For shorter range targets they tend to fly straight out with almost no spread, for longer range they spread, then regroup, then spread again if the target is too far.

i like the trial trebuchet. narc is pointless though since it barely extends beyond the lrms minimum range

Narc has always been useless, they need to tweak it. With TAG in the game it is even more useless, energy weapon with no heat vs missile weapon with ammo constraints and wonky mechanics.

Check out the command chair update, they seem to have fixed the p2w scheme, and now it is pretty balanced. Whatever you can get with cash you can now get with cbills and gxp. Pretty happy with the changes, I'll do more research into it later.

I'm something of an old fart-purist myself. If it was part of the original dice-and-paper game, then great. If not, it doesn't make sense to add it in just to draw in money or make the game easier for those who throw said money at the game.

The changes look good, though with the arty and air strikes being such a relatively low cost, I worry that there are going to be nearly constant barrages going on in any given game. I mostly feel sorry for Assault pilots who are too slow to exit the strike zone while the faster guys book it out of there.

The air strikes and arty will mainly be used against super defensive teams that like to sit in their base and snipe. I imagine on river city it will be super effective against the team that starts on the higher ground. Usually most teams don't know what direction to go in from there and they end up sitting in base waiting for the other team to engage. I like how they put in a timer that prevents immediate barrages so everyone has time to move before instant arty spam. Wonder if you'll be able to insta-kill some mechs with it via cockpit hit. The prices aren't too bad either in terms of c-bills, but gxp is gonna be a ***** to grind out.

Edit: I just had a massive herp derp moment. All this time I've thought you can't use modules until you unlock the module slot in elite. WRONG. You can use them at any time as long as you have them unlocked via gxp and have bought the module for cbills or money, the master unlock gives you an extra slot. Holy **** my mind is blown. All this time I could have had the 2 modules I've bought and unlocked, sitting on my raven when I'm not using it, and I could have had them on the mechs I actually use. Wow. Now I know what it feels like to be muffin aka herp derpsalot.
