No need to guess...You did play it differently...Not many teams took snake on the break constantly...The teams I watched slide into the snake insert and didnt want to get into snake or got trapped there...hope he gets better...

Agreed. That dorito used for snake insert was a super stagnant bunker. People got in there and just sat and shot all day it seemed. Would have liked to see something smaller in there. Maybe a mini dorito or a small cake to encourage people to push past it into the snake.

I was just glad to see some paintball being played. Enjoyed the event and seeing alot of people I had not seen in a while and meeting a few new people. As a fan just watching I thought the event ran fair for the first one. I believe this will just get better. I thought the Refs did fair for the first event missed as few got a few right. This should also improve. Was not crazy about finishing at night, really was pointless to play those last few games. There was no way the refs could see if a player was hit, and the players new this and was no way going to call themselves out. They all ended in a time limit draw so honestly should not have been played. I really liked the race to 2 in D3, I just think there should be fan side coaching as well to make it like PSP all the way. I am a true believe if you take the fans out of the game you are not going to have as many fans(just my opinion). The fan side coaching in PSP is the funnest to do and watch at the events, I really think it is something the CFOA should look into bringing it back. I know the old school guys all disagree, but this is a new era of paintball, Keep up with the new things that work.

dont bring back coaching. no coaching makes the teams work together anc communicate. also i like being on the other teams side of the field; a snake side coach can very easily ruin that.

Coaching does not keep a team from working together or communicating. It puts an excitement into the game for the fans. The fans at the CFOA events just can sit and watch and cannot even cheer on the players. Go to a PSP event and just watch the diference it brings to the fans sideline. The players will tell you that you cannot even hear the coach because of the noise, but at least the fans are having fun and not looking like they are sitting in church with a boreing preacher. I guess each to his own, but as a fan I feel like I should be able to cheer yell and take part in the game. And it obviously not too bad of a thing since the largest paintball promoter in the world lets the fans coach yell and cheer during the play at their events.

Plus lets be honest 4 of the 7 d3 teams are using CFOA as a chance to work out the kinks for PSP

I aint going to say it is not good practice for those teams Cody, but all of those guys play X-Ball not 5 man so there is a pretty big difference. So saying working out kinks really is not what is happening. It does give them field time as individuals, but the way those teams was rostered alot of these guys will not even be on the same team in PSP as they were at the CFOA.

Cody is trying to say that he'd support bringing back coaching for D3, as it would help us get acclimated to PSP. I like Race to 2, however, the way it was ran was just like a regular old 5 man, save for the whole 'bodies and pulls matter' ordeal that Illusion and PCR found out about. I'd much rather step on a field, play a point, have 2 minutes to get back on the field, and then play again, and repeat if necessary. That's just my opinion though.

Greg I do not believe d3 had the same rules as d4 and d5. bodies and pulls did not matter. It was based on time I am pretty sure. Even in PSP you do not play back to back in 5 man race to 2. Their is still 10 to 20 min breaks between matches.

Yea, I understand. I'm saying that save for the bodies and pulls point system, it was ran just like 5-man.

Only complaint is I wish they turned off the Flood lights. If we're gonna have to play in the dark at least don't force one team to have the prison break lights on them

I think the refs on the white feild on the snake side (which i played the entire day) were not bad at all.. I did not notice them giving away my position like some inexperienced refs would tend to do so props to those guys and keep up the good work.. all in all a good event but hopefully next time finals will not be hard to see paint coming at you.
