I think that this comparison video was posted right before the other thread was closed. Reasonable back-to-back comparison of the LV1 to the Ego 11 with DART. Sound difference if noticeable.

Still say, should have gone fully macro-less.

Macroline-less or not, the air transfer tube makes zero difference to the feel of the marker and to me, I didn't even notice it was there!

Would the new collar fit on the sl3 reg? So that you could still have the "macroless" setup, but with the sl3 reg instead of those rubber grips and what not?

Answered in the other thread you posted this question in.

Short answer: No. The collar is not the same.

shot this yesterday. The quietest poppit i've ever shot. Accurate, minimal kick. Really an evolution for the ego. Great marker.

Something that was brought to my attention at Extravaganza was the fact that the area this new air tube is located is also the area where a lot of the older Ego's that twisted the frames were in the same area. Wouldn't this be a dangerous change that could potentially be a lawsuit waiting to happen ? I mean the older frames were supposedly "made to do this" as a safety feature, how would this be a safety feature now knowing the airline is incorporated into the trigger frame ?

Another point brought up by a local player, every pro-shop on the planet carries macro line, why change to something specialized that if it breaks is going to cause the owners gun to be down for an extended amount of time ?

That tube is not going to break. Chances are, ANY marker that takes a dive badly like that is going to have problems.
You have to take into account, it is metal and is under pressure, so will be stronger anyway. It isn't going to shoot off in someone's eye as if the frame DID break and the air tube came away from the trigger guard, air would just blow THROUGH it, away from the players face anyway.

Very nice but I have to agree with the whole "wish they would have gone macroless" debate. If they would have gone without a macro I would be all over this gun.

I get the same vibe with the Vanquish. Not the most visually appeasing but definitely looks like it'll work as intended.

You've put the gun through these tests?

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum.
