Recommend Me an Alternative for <$400-500 USED

So been getting back into the game again. Selling a lot of my stuff and trying to really shrink my gear and keep the essentials.

Because of that, I need a new gun.

I really want a Clone GT, but it's not a smart decision. I'm only getting back into the game and not playing every week yet. This means my gun won't get a lot of field time as of now and I'll end up losing money.

Any other alternatives to the GT that is in my price range? Right now, I wouldn't mind a Clone VX or VX'ed [looking to buy one]. Just any other alternatives besides those?

$400-500 used (can go a bit over, want to find a good deal)
Keeps its value

Those are the most important to me. Any gun that can shoot close to a GT basically.

I know you are asking for a used gun but if you want to go with macdev why not get a new drone dx. If you are looking to get i bit more performance from it just swoop up a used one and add a clone gt board to it.

The drone isnt that far from the clone shooting wise, as well.

Dont let the price scare you away. The Drone DX is an incredible value. Very efficient and smooth for the price. With that said a VX'ed clone would be your best bet used.

Otherwise older DM's are smooth and shoots nice. But theyre not as efficient.

A VX'd clone would be my suggestion if you really want to go this route. Be sure to get pics of the internals and post up in the MacDev forum if you need help verifying if it is truly VX'd.

The drone operates much differently and IMO is not as impressive as the clone, but it does have the new GT noid on it if purchased new. Like was said above a DM9 is another really solid option.

So looks like VX'd and VX is my best choice? How much is a good price for either? It seems like the price has went up on them.

I'd buy a PM8. They run about $300 in great shape. They shoot amazing and if more efficiency is needed you can run an eigenring. They aren't going to depreciate much either, since there aren't new PM models coming out now. If you want to sell it down the road in a year or two you'll probably be able to get the same money back out of it. It will shoot nice, it will give you the spool feel, and it will take less cash up front to get back in the game. If you decide in 6 months you want something else it will be easy to flip at $300 and you can then jump to whatever marker you feel would be an improvement, though I have a feeling you won't want to change for improvement reasons any time soon.

Seems like a smart move. No more PM's coming out.
I've decided to not get a Clone as they cost too much.

I also considered an Axe which I could find for 250-270.

So PM8 vs Axe.

If you really want a Clone, or something similar, I would try and find a MacDev Droid. They are really smooth, and pretty efficient, and you can find them around $400.

So PM8 vs Axe.
I'll weight in on this... I have found the company and gun to stop my gunwhoring addiction. The company is Kee. The gun is the axe. Not only do I like the ergonomics of the axe, but it shoots stellar with a boss or eigenbolt. I don't care what anyone says, Kee has the best customer service in this sport. Hands down. Pick up an axe and you'll be happy. FTR, I have actually owned a clone and prefer the ergonomics of the axe.

Looks like I can find a PM8 for 200-250.
Axe for 250-300.

Whichever comes first I guess. Anyone see any good deals on Axes lately?

So I decided to get an Axe.

Got a good deal on it and think w. lifetime warranty it'll keep me in the game for awhile.

For anyone else contemplating or in a similar situation as me, any gun will do. Reason I took the Axe:

- Good deal
- Lifetime warranty
- Macroline less
- Simple maintenance
- Holds up value
- Available parts

PM8's can be found cheap at 200 [main appeal to me], but parts are hardly to come by. I wouldn't mind a Clone VX/VX'd but the price is too high for me right now. If I was actually playing as I was before, I'd probably just spurge for the GT as the VX/VX'd would just be a temporary solution to wanting a GT.

I think I'll be fairly happy w. an Axe. And with the price I got, I think I could resell it/trade and get my money back.

You'll love it, and if you want you can upgrade the bolt and that gun will shoot crazy good even compared to many high end markers.

If you got a good deal on an axe I think you will be very happy. The biggest complaint I have with the axe is that many people ask for nearly new prices on used markers.

Looks like it's a consensus!
Got it with a Boss bolt.
