I believe the reason they don't do that is because it doesn't show the variances in anodizing as much. The slight variances in color from the metal differences would be very apparent when not separated by another color.

Maybe, but I honestly doubt they thought about it that much! Isn't it mostly the same metal anyway?

Even then I'd personally prefer it done proper. The anno differences can't be worse than how it is.

I believe they use 2 kinds of aluminum on the LV1, mostly 6061 (?), but something is I believe 6082 (Body?). I have no idea if there would be any anno differences or not.

I might have the metal numbers wrong though, IDK, just trying to remember what I read, I will try and find it, and quote it here.

Edit*

Found it and I was right with the types of aluminum.

It's all 6061 billet. Jack or someone posted it in the spec list of the marker.

I dunno, does that make sense to you guys? I just feel that the combos they have are obscuring the milling lines of the marker as well as drawing the eyes to contrast points that don't go anywhere - like on the ASA or the edges of the LPR etc. . As an added bonus, the barrel back and LPR divisions get your eye stuck fast right above the foregrip, exaggerating any perceived ugliness. Instead of flowing from the barrel tip along the marker and then down the grip, your eye just goes *zonk* straight to that point. No workies.

OK I'm sounding like an art teacher. Excuse me, lol
I agree with your styling/color points completely, but I think that the rammer cap should stay red, and the air transfer line and reg collar should be red as well.

just my .02

Great work though, there are some really cool colour schemes here.

just to echo what 7lash said i am really liking some of the designs you guys have come up with, unfortunately as mentioned they would be very difficult to pull off due to the way the processes work but some of them are great concepts.
kinda liking the the LV1-X4 design a lot to be honest!

BIG thx for the reply

honestly peeps that are worried bout the colors of anno...is kinda a joke

if you want it a certain way...there is quite a few companies that specialize in paintball gun's get CUSTOM anno'd.....and a few that do AMAZING work

what I feel PE should help us customers out with especially now on the LV1 is different grip choices

since the ego11/geo3 we only have one option....I understand that makes it really cheap cause it's only one color..one packaging

but now with the LV1..2 different grips

I would love it if at least you guys offered WHITE grips

but really like the basic 4 colors would open up so many possibility's
Black, White, Red, Blue or even Brown, Green,

like I said...anyone can get the gun re anno'd.....but for what the past 2 years or so...only one choice

you guys used to have the white option...I know I bought a few sets

just my .02's i'm sure quite a few other peeps will agree

Hey thanks for the response!

I'm always open to being corrected, please don't take any crit as meant in a negative way. I love the design of the LV1 and think I've made that pretty obvious by now! I can see how the raw materials thing can make a difference, but not seeing how the rest of those affect your default factory colour schemes in terms of what parts are what colours. If we're including graphic annos and grip colours then that makes sense.

I would like to see just how much the different AL types used here affect colour annos. Obviously it's not really an issue for black, but it would be very interesting to see the difference with say red/red. As far as I can make out the body is the only part made from a different AL? Do other markers such as clones and axes have the same issue? Is it obvious? I know the DAM managed to have about ten different versions of green and tan running around probably due to different plastics, rubbers and metals being used, though that's an extreme example.

No problem, constructive criticism is never taken in a negative way. I was speaking in general when I replied, if we are only talking about the standard colours then some of the quoted limitations are less relevant.

You say that black is not any issue but seriously, you'd be surprised at just how many different shades of black there are! Different grades of aluminium (aluminum) produce different colours for a given anodising process but there are also variations within grades; variations between foundries; variations from batch to batch; you can even have variations within the same batch. All of these things are beyond our control and the effects of these variations cannot be seen until after the anodising process.

Re-anodising a part in order to colour match adds cost to the part but, more importantly, it alters the dimensions of that part which can affect the performance of the product. Scrapping a part is obviously not cost effective, therefore it makes sense to choose colours and colour schemes that balance looks against repeatability.

Trust me when I say that this can be just as infuriating for our designers who have drawers full of amazing colour schemes, which are often released as limited runs but never make it to full production.

from my vantage point, the brown grips were used quite a lot, and offering only one other grip color would keep costs quite low.
Even if you only had a limited run of them.

Anyways more green ones inbound. Of all these so far I'd probably want the rawhide
