G6R question

Now I know everyone says not to use HP but to use LP or SLP but where in the manual does it state to not use HP?

Not that I saw. I'd rather heed the warnings then blow up my gun.

It's not bad for the gun to use a high pressure reg, but the whole thing just works better/smoother in my experience with the SLP

I hate when people give WRONG information, it is "bad" for the gun. The seals are meant to be pressurized to a lower pressure. Not 850 psi. Im not sure if it will void your warrant, but it will make your life easier in the long run to run low pressure setups.

Depends on your definition of "bad for the gun".

Will you cause irreparable harm to solid aluminum using 800 psi? No. Will you blow the seals between the body and frame (or ASA and frame)? Yes.

Some people have been lucky and have gotten it to work with HP. Most who have tried HP end up with leaks it seems. It's your gun you can do whatever you want but if/when it starts gushing air from between the body and frame you'll have only yourself to blame.

Yeah. I just wouldn't drop that amount of money on a gun only to cheap out on a 45 dollar reg. Just me though. The o-rings weren't built to handle super high pressures.

If blowing all the internal o-rings and body seals that keep the two halves of the gun connected and leak free is not "bad for the gun", then by all means, use a HP output tank. Can it be done. Sure. Will it likely work, as intended, for a long period of time. Zero chance. I've seen a few people come up to the techs at events with gun issues. All of them were using HP tanks. I saw a few local players with leak issues. Again, HP output tanks. But hey...no biggie...right?

And there are probably people who have lubed their guns with a mixture of JB weld and sand and have had no problems also but would you suggest others do that?

3 people who have had it work don't outweigh the dozens of "ZOMG MY GUN IS LEAKING BOB LONG SUCKS I USE AN HP TANK!!1!1one!!!11!" threads that show up every so often.

I lol'd. I think he was trying to say the seals won't stay in place at that pressure.

Was it in the Mtac manual where it said the warranty did not cover the gun if you used it in an act of piracy?

There's some gems in there

well congratulations!!!!! so your telling me that its better to just ignore what the manual recommends you to use? Most modern guns can easily run on LP so why not just do what the manual recommends to avoid annoying problems that can be easily avoided. hell My cocker converted pump can run with a slp reg with out any shootdown even when i use my Auto Trigger.

Durometer however I am not sure that either 70s or 90s could handle the direct output pressure from an HP tank without some risk of blowing. The stock buna 70s for sure cannot. Even though you know some people who haven't had issues, please don't spout out recommendations on here. This is probably the most common issue we see on here on this forum with the G6R and something I have personally seen numerous times when users use HP tanks. Please press the "I believe button" on what is being said by both the manufacturer of the paintball marker and a large number of users on here so we can avoid people ruining their guns.
