The vmax are inexpensive but holy crap what an ugly loader....

Empire, dye, app, extreme rage, or proto please fill our void! We need 50-100 round electric hoppers.... Force fed is over kill....something from 60-80 dollars would be idealistic

Brass Eagle used to make a light bulb sized 20 round hopper. Have one that I use on my OK D Day "bazooka" marker.

Been ages but I remember jury rigging a hopper out of PVC pipe, and elbow with a push on cap on the end of the pipe. Maybe 1" pipe and elbow then reduced down to friction fit into the feed neck. Anyway it was all Home Depot stuff. Maybe an copper feed neck epoxy or something.

A T fitting with a pipe on each end going front to back comes to mind. When full, the balls in the front would feed first because your marker is pointing up shooting. When you point your marker down, the balls in the back will run into the front. Seems a little detent made out of mono would keep them from running back into the back. Just an idea.

Sounds like you guys haven't heard of the viewloader tripod..

http://www.141paintball.com/?p=12112

The 140 capacity hopper attachment has a slimmer profile and obviously is perfect for using pods.

Good luck finding one as they're pretty rare..I just bought a brand new shell on ebay but they don't show up often. There are a few listed with the 200 round shell right now.

Issue with these is that they're made of the hard plastic that is prone to cracking. I went through two shells because the area where the lid attaches cracked off.

If you watch the old Cereal Killerz DVD, I think Ron Kilbourne uses one. You can see the profile of it on a mechanical cocker

Oh we've all heard of them but ... like you said good luck finding them, they are gem plastic, and the size isn't all that compelling.

Looks like they just rereleased the Revy so you can cut those up all day long

http://www.paintballgateway.com/vlvire12vopa.html

I've heard those are even using the old school plastic for shells. One of those + cut the front off and there you go.

I'm just saying that considering I picked on up used (I know it's not new) for $25 shipped. I could not bring myself to cut up a product (of any kind) that I just spent $44 plus shipping, probably around $55-$60 in the end, when they are available used for like $20-$25 plus shipping.

Your right though, that's relativity cheap compared to the cost of Halo's and Rotor's but remember it's still only a 11 to 12 BPS hopper.

I guess the younger generation doesn't know, but that price is dirt cheap. Given the distribution, I wouldn't doubt if it can be found near that price locally for many players. Sure get a used one if you like but you will need to make sure you are getting the old shells to have a comparable product. There is probably some downward pressure on those used revvies due to this price point. Personally I would rather cut up a new, in-production loader than an old, out-of-production one, all things being equal.

The feed rate of the revvy is almost irrelevant. It's a different kind of hopper than a halo or rotor, and it's pretty much the fastest available of that type.

Bottom line, there is nothing at all "ouch" about that price, even if you are going to cut it up. There's no way a factory produced low-capacity loader would be any cheaper.

I agree, that's cheap for what your getting. 15 years ago, This was thee hopped to have and it was around 65 bucks if I remember correctly. Very few things go down in price seeing as the price of materials and labor is constantly going up. 45 bucks is a great deal IMO.

I agree that's a good price because back in the day (I'm 38 almost 39) I paid like $70 for mine. I totally understand the theory of "cut a newer one so I can get parts", I fabricate/modify all kinds of stuff and I always start with a worn out thing and rebuild it.
That's all, its just my perspective :-)
