DM 11, 12, 13 what changed?
Background I have DM11, and want to know what have changed in the newer generations?
What I know:
DM12+ have an angled collar on the Hyper 3.
DM12+ have different colors, etc
DM12+ have some difference to the bolt (I know because Eigenrings currently fit up to 11)
I am look for the bolt info and efficiency changes if any. Plus any other useful knowledge. Pretty much a Noob with Dye guns, so thank you in advance.

Dm12/13 have a window cut into body by the bolt. And use a spacer to cover that area with the bolt installed.

The LPR in DM's have an oring on the inside that eventually wears out and is difficult to replace... so thats why Dm's always shoot best when they are new.
For the most part Dm4 - Dm13 are basically the same design. The newer ones always "seem" to shoot better because the LPR is still brand new.

The window yep I see that, now. Did anything really change with the bolt?
I have heard the few changes between 7 to current. Didn't realize the LPR issue. Thanks

So bolt is the same. Why won't the current Eigenring fit on a DM12 then? Or do you mean no real performance changes?

Dye is one of the few brands that do not need an upgraded or moded bolt.

wont fit because of the windows and the can that forms the dump chamber. so while the bolt proper is the same, the engine as a whole is slightly different.

specifically which oring?
Its been my experience that the older ones shoot better... though the newer ones are more efficient. thats a direct result of changes to passage and chamber sizes.

You are the man. You and others have been extremely helpful since I decided to give DM a whirl. From the initial decision, leak fixing, hell everything. I have been trading around locally and on Nation quite a bit, looking for that perfect marker. Where I doubt it exists (and from the looks of new releases won't be here soon haha), my DM 11 is fantastic and in the top 2 markers I have ever own. Funny thing is the best is my NT 11. Hater to a Fanboy go figure. Thanks to all, you are he best!

What? This makes no sense to me at all. All orings in the gun are replaceable.
In my experience with 4 different dm models... the more broken in, the smoother they shoot.

Good to know. Honestly if my DM11 was any smoother I wouldn't know it fired! Guess I will leave that LPR alone.

I think that's right. Certainly the DM 11 required tools

I liked my DM11 a lot. It had the 45 degree collar on the hyper 3 and the NT style front reg cover... it was lightweight and beautiful and shot like a dream.
I went to a luxe (not a good idea!), then back to a DM12. I really dig the toolless bolt system on the 12, it makes troubleshooting between points easy peasy (not that I do much).
If I had to choose, I'd say DM12 > DM11 > DM9 > DM7. The DM4 and 5 are just too big for my taste, the DM6 is a bulkier DM7 without the eye improvements, the DM8 is a bulkier DM7, and the DM10 and DM13 are essentially identical to the previous year model.

Thanks DarkRipper
My 11 has been a proven performer, but I have to admit toolless disassembly is appealing.

I love my dm 12... It shoots great, looks great...look at it in sig, is ok to maintain, however... New it costs like 1300 and now only one model later the resell is around 700ish... Dye needs to keep their Gun value higher... Instead of releasing a new Gun every year... Release every 2 or 3 years and just come up with bolt upgrades or accessories in between.. Pm me for more on this matter

I agree with you on keeping value higher. Not releasing minor updates every year would certainly help. To be honest that is what this thread is all about. The changes are so minor I'm a lot of cases that it is hard to figure out what the actual improvement were. I have always loved Dye equipment: soft goods, google (a bit small for me unfortunately), rotor, and now their markers, but maybe they should look at the PE play book and just change the colors between releases. That would likely keep the value higher.

once that Eigenring comes out for the DM12/13 the DM11 will lose all appeal

All appeal seems harsh. Not that I will trying to sell mine, but with so few improvement from 11 to 12 to 13 why would it lose all appeal? From what I gather the improvements were mostly cosmetic ......windows and angled Macroline fitting. Even tool less disassembly is just convenience no performance boost. Efficiency, shoot quality, etc are the same stock.
