The vertical print actually has to do with the way the fabric is cut. The rolls make more sense to cut horizontal, but the scraps they use to make a few vertical cuts. That's what makes the vertical cut rare.

This seller is a scammer! I purchased this item on the 22nd and have received no item and he is ignoring my messages. Do not deal with this scumbag who is so pathetic he steals a whole $40! All his information has been obtained as well as the info on his wife who's PayPal account he uses and all actions taken.
