how much does somebody win when they place in the top? ide sure like to make a living at the NPPL. but am not sure what the ammounts of the prizes are to know if thats possible or not.

not even close to enough to make a living, maybe enough to pay for the trip depending on which division you are talking about.
Pro – 7man S7 Race format
$2800.00 entry fee
Prize package ($25,000.00)
1st place $15000 cash
2nd place $8000 cash
3rd place $4000 cash
(Plus one Trophy and 7 medals for each place)
Note: Pro division is locked in 2013.
Semi Pro (D1) - 7 man S7 Race format
$2500.00 entry fee
Prize package ($7,000.00)
1st place $3000 cash
2nd place $2500 cash
3rd place $1000 cash
(Plus one Trophy and 7 medals for each place)
Note: The top two Semi Pro teams will be eligible to move up to Pro in 2014
D2 – 7 man traditional format Capture the Flag
$2200.00 entry fee
Prize package ($5000.00)
1st place $2500.00 cash
2nd place $1500.00 cash
3rd place $1000.00 cash
(Plus one Trophy and 7 medals for each place)
D3- 7 man traditional format
$2000.00 entry fee

Not possible at this time to make enough money to live on from prize money. Most of the professional players that make a living a paintball not only play for top teams, but work for the companies that sponsor their team.

My guess is it's the total $ amount that will be paid out in that division across all the teams that win a prize. However, if I'm right, someone needs to work on their proof reading / math skills over at NPPL.

pros make money (if they make money) mainly from there sponsorship and team owners. Prize packages are like bonuses

i was expecting to be able to win $50 cuz $15000 aint much at all it makes me angry cuz all that intense competition wont earn me millions of bucks. know wut im sayin?

i took 4th place in d3 a couple years back and im still living on that ****. the trick is to live out of your car and to scope out the dumpsters of dunkin donuts. every night they throw those things away!!!
