Possible NEIC AA Event in Early April

To anyone interested:

I'm an officer on the Rowan University Paintball Club, and I've been trying to garner interest in an event in the South Jersey/general tristate area in early April. I've spoken with the owner of The Playground, located at 669 Bridgeton Pike, Mantua Township, NJ, and he's said that he'd be willing to host the event at his field. He's got a good field with paint at a really good price.

However, I've gotten mixed responses and I'm having trouble keeping communications straight, so now I'm just listing things on this thread for people to see. I've heard a lot of dates thrown around, mostly the first two weekends of April. I've gotten interest from University of Maryland, Rutgers, Penn State and Cumberland County College, but the more interest we can get, the better.

If anyone would like to state their interest or throw in two cents about the event, please post as much here.

5 Hour drive for UMass so we will have to get back to you on that one , it is a possibility though.

Already spreading the word thru the power of Facebook. Got a lot of friends who play for colleges and are interested on joining in the fun. Also JRG Photography might make an appearance, great photographer.

Last two events of NEIC class A season are the first weekend of April. Nats is the 3rd weekend. If you have the event on the second weekend of April it would be a great practice for any teams going to nats. Seeing as the layout would be out you could definitely play on it.

The CEO of the NCPA was pushing for the first weekend of April to give it a bigger gap before Nationals, but it sounded like it might be workable for the second weekend if we get enough interest. I haven't heard definitely, but I'd imagine that the field owner would be down to use the Nationals layout; he's pretty chill and responsive to things like that.

Wilkes is interested in putting a line in. Depends on whether our funding goes through for Nationals.

i was going to say that nationals is extremely close to that time period. Hartford might be interested in driving down but not 100% sure due to the distance. I will bring this up to the guys tomorrow night at our meeting.

I know that the playground is a fantastic field, and would be very excited to come and play there while im in college instead of just during the summer when im off of school

By the sounds of things, the NCPA would prefer it if the event were held on April 6 as opposed to April 13 in order to give teams more time before Nationals, although if enough teams can only do it on the April 13, it can be done on that weekend instead. If your college would significantly benefit from the event being held on April 13 as opposed to April 6, please list so below; otherwise, it sounds like the event will be held on April 6.

Hey,

I'm the captain of Cornell University's team (this will be our first season) and I'm definitely interested in having my team participate. We aren't going to nationals this year (we're basically using this as a training season) but I think we may have some leftover funding to come to this event. Do you have more details on entry fees and paint pricing? I'd like to talk to my e-board about this at our next meeting and see if it would be feasible for us.

entry fee is usually 135 ish and then late fee is up to 50 dollars usually.
Paint prices depend on the field

Depending when the event is posted to APPA, Hartford may be able to make the drive (we need a few weeks to allocate for money for an event.) however the event needs to be confirmed.

Wilkes is out if its the first weekend in April because a few of us are working at Lainway the weekend of the A event.

So from what i can see we also proposed lain way to host the event , since it would be closer for schools up here in Mass/CT/upstate NY

Yes it would be a dual a double a event. I saw Alex post about it.
prob would be the only option for the Wilks guys.

Forgot about this. But the double event at Lainway would be an idea.. needs to be sorted out ASAP though for teams to be able to get funding, send fee's in, commit, and such..

I just heard back from the NCPA and confirmed with the Playground that, since so many teams will be playing the Lainway event, the Playground event will be on April 13.
