Just how consistent can your gun do at the Chrony?

Smallest +/- at the chrony. Is your gun stock? Or what mods helped you get it more consistent?

Paint is going to be the biggest factor in most guns. I have been +/2ish with evil paint, underbored and a vx'd clone with a violent series SL3 reg.

I was thinking quality paint and underbore would have an affect on the consistency. I was watching a g6r video and was surprised at the variance on the chrony. Then I saw a post today and someone mentioned a +/- 15 on a g6r. That got me thinking about if some guns and setups were capable of being dialed in to a very tight average.

In the past it seemed that AC's were pretty consistent, but my memory might be faulty. Since I have really been out of the loop for a decade+. The paint size was not much of a issue then it seemed.

I was thinking that a very consistent gun would be something I would like in the future. For my next gun.

I have a used stock Mini, that I have not had a chance to chrony yet. I need to get a Chrony or get to a field soon. Any thoughts on what I might expect out of it? I have some bore sizing barrel kits. I plan to run with it for this coming season. Then look at changing in the fall/winter.

I think my home field is going to marbs this year.

it kind of does depend on the paint and the bore match.. as well as how well broken in the marker is.. a marker that is well broken in lets say 50 to 60 cases of paint should be better over the chrono. i know my vice with my .685 furious shooting evil that matched near perfect i was +/- 2 or 3

Sometimes the tolerances of the marker itself will play a big factor in things as well and the overall quality of it or the parts you choose to upgrade.
My 07 Cyborg is +/-2 over the chrono usually when I decide to use it. When I started seeing +/-5 I knew it was time to clean and relube and it would be spot on.

So +/-2 FPS is possible for several guns made today? With proper paint to bore sizing and potentially some mods depending on the gun.

I think I would be quite happy with a gun that was that consistent.

I've been +/- 1, but only after going through a bag of 4 star and finding paint that I tried to bore out to the same size with my Proton and got a total of 10 shots before it popped up to +/- 2

My ego 08 could be perfect right across the board when bored properly.

Paint is the biggest factor. Modern guns and modern regulators are so good that most of the variance you see is from paint.

All of the guns I've ever owned that I can think of (maybe not my Spyder) could do +-5 or better.

I had an Axe that needed it's reg serviced right out of the box since it was still shooting +/- 17 after 4 cases of paint and this was chronoing with 5 star

I can't really prove it either, but think that due to physics that balanced spools have the best chance for consistency as well.

Before I rebuilt my Etha with new o-rings, lube, and cleaned internals, I was getting +-20, but when it is clean and taken care of, somewhere around +-4 to +-10, which I feel is pretty strong since I don't have a barrel kit yet.

That seems pretty good, considering the price point of that gun. Might be interesting to see what a barrel kit does.

Looking forward to getting a chrony so I can try my different barrels with my Mini.

A really tight consistency (say +-2), is one thing that would get me thinking about a higher end gun. I think from what I have seen most Spools get enough pods for the way I play. Not a case a game shooter. Air refill is not an issue for me.
