I'm just speaking as an outsider looking in...once again I'm not an engineer...but wouldn't it had made more sense to make the trigger Guard a little more thinker like the bottom and run the air threw the Gaurd and down to the reg instead of coming out the front of the gaurd with a ugly and downright weird piece?

I like it. You guys are so funny. If the ego looked like this for the last five years and then they came out with the macroline hose on it like the 11. You would scream murder. Now they come out with a cool new design and everyone's dress shopping. It looks cool. It's not a gun it's a paintball marker. What we should be most interested in is how it performs...

I just want to know what the performance expectations are for it.
Efficiency?

Just pictures so far

From the photos alone it is my observation that the lvl1 will be more comfortable to shoot than previous Egos. The frame looks to be extended slightly forward, almost the length of the old torpedo giving an ergonomic front line. It seems to me that the lvl1 is designed so that the off-hand should he placed right up to the bottom of the barrel with the thumb resting on the upper or over the top.

I cannot wait to test drive this thing!

Anybody ever think maybe the gun won't have to be fired with the hose on it, maybe it's just for redirecting the air so that you can take it apart while its gassed? Just a thought

from anusgear:
This is the first look at the brand new 2013 Planet Eclipse Ego LV1 paintball gun. As you can see, the Ego LV1 is a completely re-designed gun from its previous Ego 11 model.

Here are some of the features of the new Ego LV1:
+ Integrated LPR - With the LPR being moved inside the body, you can grip the front potion of the gun better than all previous model Ego Guns. This slight tweak helps the overall ergonomics of the LV1.
+ Reduced Profile - With the trigger frame being closer to the hopper, the Ego LV1 has a very balanced design and a very reduced profile.
+ Macro Less Design - With the air flow of the new Ego running directly through the grip frame to the regulator, the macroline has been completely removed. A short metal tube connects the frame to the reg which looks and functions in a very effective manner
+ Molded Rubber Foregrip - The front grip and regulator of the Eclipse Ego LV1 have a molded rubber front grip to help you get a better grip on your gun.

Pre-Orders for the Ego LV1 will be available soon!

It could have a purple rhinoceros dick growing out of the rammer, and it STILL would be my gun of choice...the thing is truly groundbreaking....just wait for the details!
Well I'm sure the gun is an amazing gun just like all the Egos before it. But I have to agree it is ugly. I'm just blown away that they got a whole group of people to say this gun looked awesome. I'm just saying would you buy an ugly Ferrari just because it was fast?

Glad I am not alone.

$1350 marker that looks like it is worth $500.

Jack, Two tech questions:
1. Given the fact that you now have a valve plenum with an open ended chamber do you plan on implementing a balanced or close to balanced poppet valve?

2. Is it just me or did you go with a more aggressive implementation of ZICK this go around? It looks as if the tail of the rammer is larger diameter to lower first stage force/bolt speed even more compared to the previous revisions of ZICK. Also, thanks for moving the ZICK tail o-ring from the rear cap to the rammer. Now you don't need a pick to change it, I like!

P.S. Now that the LV1 is old news when is the LV2 coming out?

Hi,
I don't want to go into too much detail just yet. There is much much much more information to be released over the next couple of days, where most of these questions will be answered.
Sorry to be so vague, but I think you'll really like all of the internal innovations once they become fully revealed.
Jack

I think people just don't like different...scratch that...people don't like different haha. But once different grows on them they change their tune. They have the right idea though. They didn't just revamp an old gun. They went totally new. Look at all the parts on that mat...you'll only recognize a few.

I do really like how they have a little allen screw holding in the buttons/screen guard on the rubber grip. Easy cleaning and replacement if it gets damaged. Also, can't tell if the hardware is actually the bronzy kinda color from the CSL but if so that looks hot with that color scheme. Could just be the reflection though.

You guys crack me up.. First everyone wants an Ego that has no macroline Pe gives us one and everyone *****es about the way it looks. I was kind of expecting them to have the external bolt speed controls like the Geo and the flush-fitting frame from the CSL, but not a big deal. Also to the people that say the line will be in the way, you obviously don't know how to hold a Paintball marker.. You can wrap your fingers around where the LPR would be and you pinky wont even touch it. Shoot it first and then judge, otherwise your opinion isn't worth a ****. Good work PE I'm excited to learn more about the specs and how it shoots!
